When you think glowing skin, cascading curls, and flawless faces we’re guessing a particular subset of supermodel comes to mind: The Victoria’s Secret Angels. We don’t mean to play favorites, but after catching up with 10-year VS veteran, Alessandra Ambrosio, the Brazilian bombshell is quickly becoming our number one girl crush. Alessandra is one hot mama–literally. When she’s not in total glam mode gliding down the runway, you can find this mother of two in full-on mom mode–most likely with either daughter Anja or son Noah perched on her hip. And she does it all looking seriously stunning. We were lucky enough to snag an exclusive interview with Alessandra where she spilled some of her supermodel (and supermom) beauty secrets.

Who is your biggest beauty inspiration?

My biggest beauty inspirations are definitely my mom and grandmother. They both taught me at a young age how important it is to care for your body and treat it right.

We all have those photos we look back on that make us say “What was I thinking!?” What is the biggest beauty mistake you’ve ever made?

I have plenty of childhood photos of my sister and me testing out different hair and makeup tricks. We were young and just playing, but sometimes I look at the photos and laugh at how overboard we went!

As your daughter Anja grows up, what beauty habits do you hope she learns from you?

I am trying to instill an overall healthy lifestyle into both of my children's lives. Growing up in Brazil we ate very fresh, great foods, and I really want to encourage proper nutrition and pass on healthy everyday habits to my kids.

What are your makeup bag staples when traveling?

I always make sure to have the basics with me when I travel. A good bronzer and mascara can go a long way. Soleil Tan de Chanel Moisturizing Bronzing Cream, Benefit "They're Real!” Mascara, RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek, Rodin Olio Lusso Lip Balm, and Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Radiant Touch.

On the VS runway you rock some pretty high glam looks. How would you describe your day-to-day beauty routine?

My day-to-day beauty routine is a lot more low-key than when I am working. As a busy mom it’s all about simplicity, but I do love a little bit of glam when I go out at night!

With photo shoots and fashion shows we have to imagine your hair sees a lot of heat styling. How do you keep your locks healthy and shiny?

Kérastase Hair Masque and Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray are lifesavers for my hair with all of the styling it goes through!

Do you have a signature nail color? Do you like to switch it up or do you have a standby favorite?

I love to switch it up! Nails are such a fun way to be creative with your look, so I love to try different designs and colors based on my mood. Right now, I am really into white nails though.
