The Bride Diaries: Mel’s Dreamy Engagement Shoot

A good afternoon to you :-)

Mel is here this week sharing her super dreamy sunlit engagement shoot with us. Oh my!

Thanks so very much to Campbell Photography for sharing their images with us today XOXO Lou

A couple of weeks ago Rob and I headed to Richmond Park where we met Kristi from Campbell Photography and had our (slightly late!) engagement shoot. With them based in Northern Ireland and us in Switzerland, it was something I’d originally written off as not possible, I just couldn’t see how we would squeeze it in, especially as I’d left it pretty late in the day to organise!

However, the more I thought about our wedding photos, the more I wanted to have a little practice run. I’m a notorious blinker for a start. And unless you’re a professional model, having a camera on you for a prolonged amount of time is a novelty for most people, so the experience of this shoot was excellent preparation for the day itself.

Most importantly, we got to meet Kristi, who was amazing and put up with numerous trials including me being an hour late (*hangs head in shame*), the pothole-ravaged landscape of the park and a scorcher of an evening. We’ve loved the Campbell’s naturalistic style from the offset, but weren’t sure how we would translate into that on camera.

Turns out, we had nothing to worry about, it was so easy, we pretty much just stood there and Kristi did her thing, making us look kinda cool instead of awkward, nervous and bumbling! It was such a chilled out shoot and we felt completely at ease. Afterwards, we were both so glad we’d done it, and then we saw the photos! Well, I’m sure you guys can see why we love them so much.

Thanks again Kristi, we can’t wait to see you and Neal again soon! Not long to go! :)

Mel xxx
