A Pretty & Elegant Pink Wedding

A Pretty & Elegant Pink Wedding

Charlotte and Neil tied the knot back in May and held their wedding reception at Rowton Hall, Cheshire. They wanted their wedding to be pretty and timeless with the loveliest pink and taupe colour scheme.

There were peonies, lace, sweets and romance. I just love Charlotte’s side hair style and those sweet confetti envelopes. The boys wore traditional tails while the girls wore elegant taupe frocks. Perfection.

Thanks so very much to the wonderful Claire Penn for sharing her images with us today.

The Proposal… Unexpected after only 10 months together, but very romantic! Neil proposed at the Pheasant Inn after a lovely spa day in Carden Park Hotel.

The Vision for the Day… We decided on a pretty, vintage, timeless feel with lots of lace, nude colours and pretty flowers.

Our family and friends are so important to us, so it was crucial to have all of them present on our big day, we wanted to feel surrounded by all the people we love.   We don’t take ourselves too seriously, so the main aim was for everybody to have a great time.

The Planning Process… We had 18 months in total to plan our day.  We were very lucky in the fact that our family helped to fund it and allowed us to make our own decisions on how to spend it!  After a lot of searching, we booked our wedding venue within two months of being engaged.  A lot of organising was then held off until closer to the day

Budget… We had £21,000 to work with.

The Venue… We wanted a church ceremony so we booked our beautiful parish church in in Upton, Chester. Rowton Hall was the perfect venue for our reception, with its elegant feel it complimented the vision we had for our day.

The Dress + Accessories… My dress was called Adela from Pronovias, headress from Jenny Packham, ChloBo jewellery and Benjamin Adams shoes.

Finding the Dress… I am very fussy and I knew I wanted the dress to be lace with a train but nothing too big due to me only being 5ft3″!  After a lot of hunting with my mum and bridesmaids, it was the final dress of many that I had tried on…. I fell in love with it straight away.

Groom’s Attire… Traditional dark grey suits hired from Moss.

The Readings + Music… My auntie is part of a modern choir, they sang Elbow’s One Day Like This as I walked down the aisle. We are both huge indie music fans and incorporated all our favourite songs into our wedding reception.

Beautiful Bridesmaids… My two best friends, Susie and Claire wore long taupe dresses from Belsoie.  The 3 children are my cousins and had their dresses handmaid by Claire’s mum

The Flowers… I wanted pink, white and green flowers – a mixture of peonies and hydrangeas.

The Cake… The cake was homemade by Neil’s auntie.  Three tiers made up of fruit, chocolate and champagne cake.

Your Photographer… The WONDERFUL Claire Penn!  Looking through the previous weddings she had photographed, I knew she would do a fantastic job of capturing our day.  We met up before booking and she was lovely and completely understood what we wanted.

The Details + Decor… We had lots of antique looking frames for our tale numbers and table plan, with candelabras for the table with hanging wicker hearts.  Our card box was a vintage suitcase we found on ebay and lined it with Cath Kidston cloth.  Guests had mini birdcages with chocolates for their favours and the children had lots of colouring books etc to keep them entertained!

The Honeymoon… We had a little romantic getaway after the wedding in Cornwall, with plenty of relaxation, eating and surfing!  Our honeymoon is booked for November where we will be spending 3weeks travelling to Florida and the Dominican Republic.

Memorable Moments… The speeches, which had everyone reduce to tears and laughter. Our best man Guido returning home from Argentina to celebrate our big day with us. Everyone rocking out to our friend’s band at the end of the night. Looking through our guests photobooth pictures after the wedding- they were completely  unaware that we would receive a copy of all the pictures!

Advice for Other Couples… It’s true what people say… the day goes by SO quickly that it will feel like a blur!  Grab a quiet 5 or 10 minutes alone together during the day, just to try and take it all in.
