The Bride Diaries: Emily’s Last Post

How is it Emily’s last post already?! I am so excited for all of the WWW brides, but so sad they are leaving already. Emily is here this afternoon to tell all about her hen do and her feelings on the wedding countdown. Thanks so much Emily, i hope you have the most wonderful wedding day XOXO Lou

It’s the final countdown…*

It seems a lifetime ago that Mr H got down on one knee on a blustery January day – and now, as I write this, there’s just two weeks to go! It’s been lovely seeing the first of my fellow real brides’ weddings get featured on the blog, and very strange to think that I will be joining them very soon.

Whilst my other posts have mainly been focused on one specific thing that has cropped up during my wedding planning, this one is going to be a bit of a free-for-all!

Starting with my fabulous hen do – two nights of glamping by the sea in sunny Dorset with my most favourite girls. We drank, we had the most amazing afternoon tea and gourmet-standard barbecue, rode horses by the sea and went on a fabulous evening boat trip. So thanks go to all my lovely hens for making it so special, and especially to my amazing bridesmaids for all the arrangements – including keeping it a total surprise for so long!

People now keep asking if I’ve started panicking… I think the answer is no, but we’ll see. We had our final meeting with the venue, and also met with the registrar that will be performing our ceremony – a strangely emotional moment, to go through the words we wanted to say – I kept thinking about the next time I’d be saying them and almost welling up.

The dress is here (oh how I love it) and has the all-important Mummy seal of approval. Accessories are sorted, the DIY bits are finished (well, barring cake decorations – this weekend’s project!) and Mr H assures me that he has everything he needs. I can’t help but worry that it’s a bit too good to be true, that some mega-issue will come up, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’s all just my over-active imagination.

So in two week’s time I will be marrying my best friend, and I can’t wait. Thank you to the other real brides and everyone else who’s read and commented. I even had a very old school friend get back in touch to say that she’d enjoyed reading my posts, which was lovely.

See you on the other side!

Emily x

*I’ve now got Europe as my brand new ear worm after writing that. Sorry if you have too!
