Fall Trend Tutorial: Punk Perfect

A sprinkle of rebellion can spice things up quite a bit, and here at MDC, we’re not afraid to break some beauty rules in the name of adventure. Bold lids, saturated lip color and a badass punk updo all at once? Well yes, don’t mind if we do. For a step-by-step guide to creating this perfectly punk trend, we got the details from professional makeup artist Elyse Reneau.

punk beauty tips

Wild Child Lids

Take your eyelids for a walk on the wild side by focusing your color on the top of the lid. To create this look, Reneau used Mac Paint Pot in Painterly as an eyeshadow base, and then applied Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Freak in an arch along the brow bone. To add even more saturated color, she gently blended the line with Anastasia Mega Watt Green along the liner. Don’t forget a filled-in brow when rocking this trend—bold color demands an equally fabulous brow that will give your face structure.

Punk Pout

To top off this rebellious look, Reneau applied Lancôme Color Design Sensation Effects Lip Color in Wine Party to model Tasha’s lips. If dark lipstick is a little outside of your comfort zone, don’t forget to check out our saturated pout do’s and don’ts!

So weigh in below our fellow rebels—do you say nay or yay for this feisty trend?
