I’ll pass the blog over to Anna………

Hi, I’m Anna Skye, designer and founder at Download & Print. I will admit I was a little naïve when in the planning process of my own wedding a few years ago, I was horrified how quickly all the expenses added up. Finding beautiful stationary at a reasonable price became a thorn in my side, which is why I started Download & Print. I believe all brides and hostesses should have invitations that make them gasp with delight, even when on a DIY budget.

Today I’m sharing an exclusive free printable invitation and RSVP card template with Boho Brides. It’s a coordinating folksy set, with love birds and flowers. The invitation features a gorgeous threaded ribbon detail, giving the set a high end look, without the high end price tag. So grab the free downloads, and follow along with the tutorial below.

Inviation Download Here  - Invitation and RSVP Template files C5 Envelope for Invitation can be found here www.ideal-envelopes.co.uk

Step 1) Download and Print - Download both template files and open in MS Word. Customise with your details. The fonts used in the example are Aerolite CP and Ancillary Bold, which are both available for a free download. Print the files on A4 cream card stock.

TIP: Print one of each template first, to give you another chance to proof read, and to get another set of eyes on the text. There is nothing worse than printing 100 copies to then find a spelling mistake.

Step 2: Fold and Glue  - Fold the invitation in half, design side out, and apply a small amount of glue to seal it closed. This reinforces the card to handle the stitching.

Step 3)  Round Corners and Punch Holes - Using your corner rounder, round the corners of the invitation. Punch holes for the stitching, following the dots on the template. The dots will appear very faint on your screen, but will be easier to see once the template is printed.

Step 4) Begin Threading - Cut 140cm of ribbon. Start at the center bottom to begin threading. Thread one stitch and even the ribbon tails. Continue threading across the bottom of the invitation.

TIP: I added tape to the ribbon ends to reduce fraying whilst threading, and I cut the ribbon at an angle to make a needle like end.

Step 5) Continue Threading and Tie - Stitch up each side and finish at the center top, with the ribbon tails toward the front of the invitation. Tie a bow and trim the ribbon tails to your desired length. Step back and admire your work! The invitation is now ready to be stuffed into a C5 envelope.

Step 6)  Complete the RSVP - Print the RSVP on A4 cream card stock. The template yields four RSVPs per sheet.  Cut the page into quarters. Round the corners to match the invitation. The RSVP fits in a C6 envelope.

Thanks so much to Anna from Download and print for this gorgeous downloadable DIY Tutorial, I’m sure you will agree it will be a great addition to your wedding stationery. Anna will be back in a months time with another FREE download for you.
