Today’s wedding from Anushé Low takes us to a small village outside Bath, England. Not only is it the most charming venue, but there are so many details to love, starting with the bride’s gorgeous David Fielden dress…

The bride paired her romantic dress with a sweet hairpiece by Jenny Packham and a bouquet of freesia and pink roses.

The ceremony took place in a 13th-century church.

The couple’s favorite part of the day? “Driving away from the church in a Porsche 356SC, lent to us by Ferdy’s dad. It was the first moment we had together as a married couple, and we were both so exhilarated! Knowing all the fun that was to come later in the day, and having just a few minutes of time to take in the overwhelming service and the sheer joy of seeing all our family and friends around us was unforgettable.”

Wick Farm was decorated with honeycomb bells and globes in shades of pink and white. The groom’s father made the wedding cake.

Why did you choose this location for your wedding?  Choosing the location for our wedding was easy. When we first met, Izzy’s family lived in the beautiful historic village of Norton St. Philip, which is just a few miles outside Bath (Somerset, UK). We spent much of our first summer together here, and its beauty and peace made it a perfect choice for our wedding ceremony. The village has a beautiful 13th-century church (St. Philip and St. James) and a 14th-century pub called The George Inn (it claims to be Britain’s oldest tavern) where all our friends and family gathered on the eve of the wedding for celebratory drinks. Our reception was held in nearby Wick Farm, a former threshing barn.

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding?  We were inspired by everything from the natural beauty of rural Somerset with its village life and medieval buildings to the decadence of Paris (where Ferdy proposed), wanders around Versailles, the scent of pink roses and peonies and the elegance of a Laduree macaron tower! Add to this our desire to reflect our happy childhoods and close families, and our wish to make sure the day was inclusive and great fun for all our friends and family.

Did you include any traditions in your wedding?  Yes, including spending the eve of the wedding apart, having a Church of England wedding service, traditional attire for the whole wedding party and a special table at the wedding breakfast for the married couple and their nearest and dearest. We had some fantastic speeches, a first dance and of course stuck to the tradition of the bride wearing “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.”

What was the best advice you received as a bride?  Make sure you and your groom step aside from the crowd at various intervals over the day and watch your own wedding unfold!

What advice do you have for other brides?  Don’t let anyone stress you (especially anyone in a bridal wear store…). However mundane certain elements of the planning feel, enjoy every moment – you really miss the “wedmin” when it’s gone! And remember that things that may seem a big deal to you in the preparation may well go unnoticed by the guests who will simply get the greatest kick possible from seeing you beaming with happiness.

What DIY projects did you take on?  In memory of Izzy’s grandma, we used her collection of cut glass vases and had 5 arrangements per table. We bought our flowers from Bristol flower market, the day before the wedding, which was an adventure unto itself! Both our mums, sisters and bridesmaids spent a memorable Friday afternoon arranging the flowers and setting them out on each of the tables. It saved us a lot of money and was a very calming and creative way to spend the afternoon! We were also lucky enough to have a hugely talented illustrator as our maid of honor, a mother of the bride who is a professional jeweler, a few star DJ-ing friends, and the then President of the British Beekeepers Association (Ferdy’s Dad) who provided the beautiful and delicious honey pot wedding favors. Including our network of talented friends in the day made it supremely inclusive!
