Hello everyone!
I’m really looking forward to sharing the plans for our big day with you all and being part of the WWW family. I’ve been glued to the blog ever since my fiancé Steve and I got engaged in January and have been inspired by so many great ideas and hope to do the same through sharing our plans for newly engaged readers.

Steve and I met at a friend’s wedding. It was a classic wedding hook-up; he knew the Groom and I knew the Bride although strangely our paths had never crossed before. As we started talking, it turned out that we lived a tube stop away from each other in London and were both grew up around the same area, it was too spooky not to meet up again.

Cutting a long story short, two years later Steve proposed to me on a chilly January morning over a pretty bridge in Amsterdam en-route to Anne Frank’s house. I wondered what he was doing on his knees as I was trying to work out where we were on the map! I was totally surprised which was wonderful as I was convinced that I would know if he was going to propose. We felt it a bit inappropriate heading to Anne Frank’s house straight after such a wonderful moment so went to a local pub and ended up having a pint about 11am! Here’s a photo from after it all happened:

We now live in Horsham, West Sussex and both commute to London everyday together for work before saying our goodbyes for the day at East Croydon. After living in London together for nearly a year whilst I finished my degree in Fashion we decided to move back to the countryside into our cosy 2 bed and got ourselves a house bunny named Bagel.

We are getting married on 7th June 2014 at The Walled Garden, Cowdray. After looking at many venues online we managed to squeeze looking at three into one day and almost didn’t make it to our appointment in Cowdray as we were running so late! The venues were all very different but beforehand we had discussed having different elements to the wedding throughout the day so the Georgian stonework reception rooms and beautiful Tudor walled garden complete with summer house (I LOVE greenhouses!) ticked all the boxes for us.

I love all things crafty (every time I say that Steve thinks I’m up to no good) so am hoping to do as much DIY details and flowers that we can, I may even try and drag Steve along to one of the flower workshops I’ve been going to! I’m planning on designing the invites too as I picked up some photoshop skills during my degree. We sent a ‘Save the Date’ ecard out in the summer to guests to save money with a link to a website I set up so they can get all the information they need before the big day.

The feel of the day I’m hoping will be a vintage style/ DIY reflection of both of us and as we are getting married in early summer there will be lots of pastels. The big oak door guests use to enter the venue reminds us of The Secret Garden so I’m trying to incorporate florals and keys somehow into the stationery and the day itself, suggestions would be very welcome! Here is a sneak preview:

Looking forward to sharing more details of the day with you all as the creating and making unfolds, I’m getting a bit worried I’ve not made anything on my list yet! I’m hoping to put together a few inspiration mood boards over the coming months and we have our tasting coming up in November. Lots of love to everyone planning their big day here on WWW! I wish you all the luck and speak soon!
