Our must-see Teal, Turquoise & Gold Wedding Theme inspiration board showed just how spectacular turquoise is as a wedding colour. In this real bride feature, Debbie Kelly's perfect snapshots shows off the bursts of turquoise colours and pure white touches at Darryl and Jessica's rustic country wedding.

Having both grown up on farms in the Eastern Cape, the couple absolutely loved their magical Turquoise & White Country Wedding, which represented their roots and who they are as a couple.

Their celebration was made even more special with their DIY wedding projects created with love from the wood and flowers found on their family farms. Grab some ideas by taking a look!

Turquoise & White Country Wedding Look

Turquoise & White Country Wedding Bouquets and Corsages: The bouquets were very simple and made up of Baby's Breath and white roses. The bridesmaid bouquets
were smaller versions of the bride's bouquet and the corsages where also made using a white rose with Baby's Breath to keep in line with the theme.

Turquoise & White Country Bridal Look: Jessica's wedding dress had a soft sweetheart neckline and an A-line silhouette with elegant beadwork and lace on the bodice. She wore a pair of borrowed white heels to complete her look.

Turquoise & White Country Bridesmaids Look: The bridesmaids wore turquoise short dresses that were homemade, which they paired with cowboy boots to keep in with
the country theme.

Turquoise & White Country Groom and Groomsmen Look: The groomsmen wore chocolate coloured suits so as to allow Darryl to stand out with his unique camel coloured suit and waistcoat.

Darryl & Jessica's Love Story

Jessica tells us a little about how they met and fell in love: Darryl was working for my dad and that's how we met. We had eyes for each other from the start and slowly began chatting before we started dating. We had a connection and spark from the beginning.

The Tale Of Their Proposal

The story of Darryl's proposal began one beautiful sunny morning... Early one beautiful sunny morning, Darryl said that we were going fishing. He took us on a walk around the farm. We walked past wildebeests, up onto a hill. Darryl had packed a blanket and some champagne and breakfast. We had a romantic picnic before he told me to look down in the lands. He had ploughed "Marry Me" into the 2 hectares of land below us, and asked me to marry him. I was in awe. I hadn't noticed the ploughed land while we were walking, because Darryl told me that if I looked at the wildebeests below they would chase me. As I am gullible, I believed him and did not look anywhere near where the wildebeests were.

(Above) The couple had some photos taken with a Nyala bull, which was wonderful as they both love animals.

Turquoise & White Country Wedding Reception

Turquoise & White Country Wedding Décor: Their wedding included a mix of rustic and country inspired decor. The tables were covered with white table clothes and two hessian runners. To enliven the rustic and country colours of white and brown, colour was introduced with the turquoise serviettes and chair tiebacks.

Turquoise & White Country Wedding Stationery: The wedding invites, menus and seating chart were made by my loved ones. They all featured a wooden rustic background, hessian and with turquoise writing to add a splash of colour to the wedding.

(Above Left) Turquoise & White Country Wedding Floral Centrepieces: The round wooden centrepieces with a rustic metal lantern on top were cut from trees on their farm. The lanterns were covered in roses, gypsophila/ Baby's Breath, greenery and wheat grasses that were sprayed gold. Candles in a glass holder were also placed within the lanterns so that it could reflect the light at night.

Turquoise & White Country Wedding Cake: A three-tiered white wedding cake with turquoise and natural raffia and white rose sugar flowers was displayed upon a wooden cake stand. Two sweet bird cake toppers that read "We Do" added the perfect finishing touches to their gorgeous cake.

Turquoise & White Country Wedding Gifts and Favours: The wedding gifts were made up of a few mints packaged in a brown paper packet, which was adorned with brown and turquoise raffia bow. A personalised Thank You sticker matching the rest of their wedding stationery was added to the paper bags.

  • Enjoy the planning, keep calm and have fun. It's one of the most special times in your life, and so many memories to be made. Everything will always come together on the day, and it's the memories that you share with one another, not the décor or structure of the wedding that is most important.
  • Shop around. Keep costs down by shopping around for the best deals.
  • Do as many DIY projects as you can. This is a great way to stick to your budget.
  • Rely on your loved ones for help. Use the people that you know or family members to help in areas that they can.

We adore this sweet country wedding that was made with love and brought to life with fresh turquoise and white wedding colours!
