Good afternoon lovely ladies! If you're a lover of sweet treats, whether that means baking them yourself or admiring {devouring!} the creations of others, then this competition is one for you! We're giving away a copy of luxury cake designer, Rosalind Miller Cakes, first book 'Wedding Cakes'. Winner of Wedding Cake Designer of the Year at The Wedding Industry Awards for two years running, and stocking an exclusive range at Harrods, Rosalind is one of the UK's leading experts in wedding cake design.

If you're considering making your cake yourself, or asking a friend or relative to make it for you, this book is a must-have - containing beautifully illustrated step-by-step guides to making and decorating your own wedding cake in 10 signature Rosalind Miller Cakes designs, this is the perfect inspiration for brides looking for a stunning, pretty and unique wedding cake. And when all that is left of your creation are crumbs and photographs, this book will be a pretty addition to your coffee table collection.

To win your copy, simply leave a comment below describing your dream wedding cake by 6pm on Friday 14th February.

Rosalind Miller Cakes came about as a sort of happy accident. I had been in New York on holiday around the time that Magnolia bakery was getting popular and the trend for cupcakes was growing. I was working as a lecturer in Graphic Design at Central Saint Martin's at the time, and when my job finished, I decided to have a go at selling cupcakes in Greenwich Market with my sister. Things took off from there and I moved into wedding cake design not long after that, realising the potential for more new styles of design and interesting decoration on wedding cakes rather than on cupcakes. I won some awards for my cakes which led to greater recognition and really helped to propel the business forward. We have now expanded and have a brilliant team of people at Rosalind Miller Cakes. Having my first book published also really helps to widen our reach especially amongst cake making and decorating professionals. I think my style is a little different to the usual wedding cake style, and very detailed, and contemporary. I take inspiration from lots of different things really, but fashion and nature in particular. I'd like to think I have set some trends in wedding cakes, but of course, new trends are always evolving from previous trends! My favourite trend is currently the use of natural looking floral arrangements rather than stiff formal ones. I guess I'd like to see less formulaic weddings as there are so many sources of inspiration and new ideas out there. I normally have a one-to-one consultation with the couple to discuss their plans and ideas. They have usually chosen me because they like my style, and may want a cake that they have seen from the website or something completely bespoke. We discuss all the options and sometimes incorporate other elements of their wedding design, such as the flowers or dress. I was a lecturer and teacher for many years and have always enjoyed teaching people new skills. The book seemed a natural progression from the cake baking and decorating Masterclasses that I run. When I teamed up with my publisher Ziggy at Cicada Books she completely understood my vision for the book and how I wanted it to come across. I really wanted to do a book with really beautiful photography that was both an inspiration book as well as a how-to book, and would be just as at home on the coffee table as in the kitchen. We are currently working on weddings abroad and it has been quite challenging organising the logistics, so I'm sure there will be more of that to come. We have also just moved in to our new studio which has allowed us to expand quite rapidly which will be an exciting challenge! Interested in learning more? Visit www.rosalindmillercakes.com or book a masterclass with the lady herself! My favourite wedding moment is after I deliver and set up the cake safely! It's always nerve-wracking having to transport and deliver something that you have spent a long time working on in case something goes horribly wrong at the last minute.
