Outdoor Romance Wedding

Outdoor Romance Wedding

Matt and Darcey met in 2006. He was the older bartender and she was the young girl attached to those curly locks. From the beginning they were inseparable and their chemistry was electric. Their love for each other is oh so apparent in their beautiful outdoor wedding. A huge portion of the decor was done by the brides mother adding even more special touches filled with love. A soft color palette accented with bits and pieces of lace and burlap created a sweet and gentle feel for the day.

The Flowerman Columbus did a lovely job of accenting Matt and Darcy's free flowing outdoor wedding with flowers that you might find on an outdoor walk in the woods.

From the Bride:
This DIY flower shop (Flowerman Columbus) allows the girls and their bridal party to come in a day or two before the wedding and hand make all of their flower arrangements. You order your flowers in advance and come into the shop to put them all together just the way you want! So all the arrangements you see, the bridal party put together! I was able to hand make the bouquet I walked down the aisle with!

The most amazing part about our wedding is that my mom, Jodi Palmer, made everything you see. All the "swag" was hand made by her for a year leading up to our wedding. She put her blood, sweat, and tears into making our wedding perfect. Everything from life-size Jenga, corn hole boards, seating chart, table numbers, stamped napkins, etc... she did it all! My favorite thing she made was the flower arrangement that hung above the alter. It was absolutely perfect. It made the wedding more special knowing all of the love and effort that went into each and every personal touch and detail. We enjoyed the whole wedding experience from start to finish. It truly was the best day of our lives and one we wish we could re-live over and over again. My best advice for a "bride to be" is to do your research! I met with countless flower places, DJs, Bands, Cake Designers, Photographers, you name it. This way I was able to compare costs and also meet with each person to see if we would be able to work together. You are partnering with all these companies to ensure your wedding day is perfect so make sure you feel comfortable putting your trust in them. It was truly rewarding to see all of our creations come together the day of the wedding. My wedding day was exactly the way I envisioned it.

Below is such a great and easy idea that you could easily incorporate into your wedding. Not only is it budget friendly, but super cute.
1. Print out a cute thank you and place in a mason jar
2. wrap raffia around the mug with a monogram label or double up and use it has an escort card
3. hand stamp a paper napkin to give it some oomph

Read on to see how much this outdoor romance wedding cost. Please note that costs change as the years go by, and prices are subject to change. This is just one couple's breakdown to give you a rough estimate on how much a wedding like this may cost you.

Dress: $3,000 The first dress I tried on was the one I ended up selecting. It was over our initial budget of $2,000 but nothing compared. I went to several other bridal shops and could not get this gorgeous dress out of my mind. I knew I had to have it so we were able to stretch a little for the perfect dress.

Suits: $220/person Jos. A Banks (Matt was able to wait until they had a sale that was buy one suit get two free. Each groomsmen was able to keep their suit instead of paying a significant amount for a rented one. Matt divided the cost evenly between all the groomsmen. For groomsmen gifts he bought each guy the shirt and tie we wanted them to wear for the wedding. I would say they made out really well :)

Flowers: $2,500 I was very surprised how expensive flowers were when initially looking. My Aunt Katie found Flowerman where we were able to create our own arrangements which helped keep the cost down significantly. Not only was it cost effective but it we had such a great time putting together all the flowers the day before. We were able to make them exactly how we wanted them!

Cake: $230 Matt and I knew we wanted to have different dessert options for our guests so we decided to get a small cake for us to cut and a top layer to save for our one year anniversary. Some of the bigger wedding cakes can be thousands of dollars and this is something that neither one of us cared too much about.

Desserts: $200 Matt and I both have a BIG sweet tooth. We wanted to make sure we included donuts in our wedding day (our personal
favorite). Working with Giant Eagle helped keep the cost down and allowed for us to select a variety of dessert options for our guests. I would highly recommend doing this!

Photographer: $2,500 Ashley Leslie was VERY reasonably priced and wonderful to work with. Her and her husband were with Matt and I the whole day. She captured each moment of our wedding better than I could have imagined.
