Maybe it's the Project Runway fan in me, but I just love looking at designers' sketches, especially when you are able to see the final product. And these lace dress sketches by Maggie Sottero and Sottero and Midgley have me enthralled. Each of them is unique, but they do share a figure-flattering silhouette and lovely feminine detailing.

When it comes to finding a lace wedding dress, sometimes it seems as if there are two extremes. The first might resemble a lace doily exploding on you-too frothy, too child-pageant, too much. And the second makes you feel like you received Jessica Rabbit's dress by mistake, very va-va-voom for one's wedding. The best thing about Maggie Sottero and Sottero and Midgley is that they find a lovely common ground between these two extremes; their collections are graceful and just the right amount of sexy.

Both collections share influence from the 1920s, blending simple sophistication seamlessly with good old-fashioned glamour. Sottero and Sottero and Midgley both have roots in Australia and the American West. This diverse, multi-generational history probably explains their passion for gorgeous, inventive, and high quality dresses.

We love the slight v-neckline both of these dresses have-a universally attractive look! But the sweet dress above definitely appeals to a bride looking for a more vintage-inspired drama, whereas the one below embraces a more modern and streamlined vision of luxury.

From quiet elegance to art deco princess, Maggie Sottero understands what a woman needs to feel her glamorous best! Check out the rest of these collections here and here.
