Engagement Ring Trend: Cushion Cut Diamond Engagement Rings

Engagement Ring Trend: Cushion Cut Diamond Engagement Rings

Their name may feel like a mouthful, but I really only have one thing to say about cushion cut diamond engagement rings: where can I find one? A classic cut widely seen in diamond rings in the 19 th century, this style of stone has been around for more than a century and has recently found renewed popularity on the ring fingers of celebrities and modern brides alike - and for good reason.

Cushion cut engagement rings are characterized by a diamond that's cut is in between a vintage old mine cut (an early version of the round brilliant cut) and a contemporary oval cut, and is essentially a roughly square-shaped diamond with rounded corners. The larger facets of this type of cut increase the stone's brilliance and clarity, and cushion cut diamonds can come in a variety of length-to-width ratios ranging from square to rectangular. Also known as "pillow-cut" or "candlelight" diamonds, these stones are, simply put, timeless.

My personal favorite way to see this stunning rock? On the finger of a happy bride-to-be, in the middle of a halo set engagement ring. Because who doesn't love a little extra shimmer in their life?

It's pretty obvious I have engagement ring envy - but what do you think? Have cushion cut diamond engagement rings stolen your heart, too?
