Chair Decor Ideas | Bridal Musings

So as we've already discussed with our real bride Gemma, this week, Pinterest can be a friend and a foe when it comes to wedding planning.

On one hand it gives us so much inspiration and ideas, and then on the other hand, it piles on the pressure to create a really unique day and gives us so much choice we can all become a little overwhelmed.

Which is where the Little Wedding Helper comes in. Kirsten Butler is a UK Venue Stylist, with big ideas, creative know-how and a helping hand. And couples who want to create unique, personal weddings recruit Kirsten to use her magic wand to add beautiful elements to their day.

And being the Little Wedding Helper she is, Kirsten has decided to share some of her expertise when it comes to chair design.

These charming ideas are not only achievable and budget-friendly, but they're also blooming gorgeous to boot. From brightly coloured ribbons to perfectly positioned blooms, simple, unique and pretty-enough-to-pin ideas that you can take to your stylist or vendors - or perhaps even try at home, if you're craftily inclined.

Take it away Kirsten...

"So often I find myself lusting after beautifully styled chair decor before realising it's either completely impractical or outside the budget of most couples. You'll probably know the ones I mean, generous amounts of gorgeous fabric, chairs with so much foliage adorning them you hardly know where to sit. So I put aside my Pinterest and decided to get a little creative. I wanted to work with chairs that you're likely to find at venues across the UK - of course you can also hire beautiful chairs, if you're not as smitten with the seating arrangements, as you are with the venue. Creative thinking was needed for the project as I did not want to just recreate styles and wanted to ensure the elements of decor could be recreated by suppliers or made at home by the couple themselves. I also wanted to show off the chairs themselves, perfect if the chairs you have are in keeping with your colours. Pinterest is fantastic for inspiration but not every chair in your venue needs to be decorated, depending on your budget and time available, just the top table seating could have some decoration. Or you might enjoy getting together with your bridal party to collect together photographs of all your guest and create my idea of a photograph on a crocheted doily. Time consuming maybe, but I think it is a personal touch that won't go unnoticed by your guests as they find their seats..."

Pretty Posy Swags

Haute and Homemade, Simple Styles

A touch of vintage whimsy

Easy, Breezy and Bright with Ribbons

Personalising With Paper

Oh I adore them all. And perfect pictures from Becky Male Photography too.

Just a few easy and elegant touches can look so pretty and special, and take away all the fuss (and expense) of flouncy chair coverings or elaborate DIY tasks - that might not turn out looking quite like they were supposed to.

I think the embroidery ring is my favourite, but I'm rather partial to the guest pictures... and the gorgeous blooms... and the floor-length ribbons. Kirsten you are one wedding whizz kid! To see more of the Little Wedding Helper's work check out her gorgeous wedding gallery.
