Romantic engagement session in Cognac France

Romantic engagement session in Cognac France

via

Good Friday to all the Trulovers! I have a wonderful romantic engagement session to share with you today from Cognac France. Located in the Poitou Charentes region of South Western France, Cognac is delightful place and somewhere that I had fun exploring two years ago when I was staying near Saintes.

Today's submission comes from photographer Robyn Rachel who is also the best friend of the soon to be bride, Shilipa. Shilpa and Eguair are planning a Spanish/Indian fusion wedding next May in Malaga Spain.

My day was completely cheered up as these came through and I edited the post. I loved seeing the different surroundings, tones and colours in the French countryside and then we come to Shilpa's wardrobe changes, so many fabulous outfits!

Robyn takes us through the love story of her best friend and their romantic engagement shoot: " Eguiar and Shilpa both met in graduate school at Georgetown University three years ago. They were both pursuing their Masters in International Relations and hit it off as good friends. A year into the friendship, she noticed he started acting different towards her but didn't want to ruin what they had so she quickly ignored it.

That summer, she had a close friend's wedding and had asked him to go as her date, explicitly stating that it was purely platonic and she didn't want to start anything. Well, he never heeded her demands and decided to just go for it. She ended up leaving to work in Afghanistan for a summer and once she came back, it was obvious to both of them that they had to see how this potential relationship would turn out. They've never looked back and plan to wed in Southern Spain next May alongside her Indian relatives, his Spanish friends and family and their friends from around the world.

This engagement inspiration stems from Eguiar's love of France, both when he worked on restoring a castle in southern Provence when he was a teen and when he studied for a year in Paris during university. Two of their friends were getting married in Cognac and they thought it would be a perfect opportunity to take advantage of the beautiful French countryside landscape, the abundant vineyards and long summer days. "

I am dreaming of long summer days roaming around the French countryside and this brings back wonderful memories of Cognac!
