Afternoon Lovely People,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and found some time to bask in the amazing sunshine we had. Sunday and Monday were gorgeous! The first bank holiday in May is renowned for being the start of wedding season so I'm so pleased that Mr Sun put on a show for all those couples who got married at the weekend, especially if they had planned a festival/outdoor wedding. It makes all the difference when the sun is on it's best behavior.

Talking of sun...........we have a very cool, very sexy and very festival shoot to share with you today, all the way from sunny California.

As a teaser for their 3rd collection, which will be getting-ready outfits for the bride and her bridesmaids, our favourite American bridal brand Daughters of Simone decided to hit the open road and chance a spontaneous shoot to unsuspecting cool chicks attending the Coachella festival. Along with their new collection of hippie style dresses and jump suits they collaborated/partnered with other like-minded artisans such as LITTER SF, Alexa Eisner Photography, The Laundry Room and the awesome FLASH TATTOOS.

This shoot is the epitome of festival wedding cool and is guaranteed to leave you inspired.

Ashley Castanos of Daughters of Simone tells us all about the ideas behind the shoot:

The three of us, my sister- Brit Castanos (the other half to Daughters Of Simone), Alexa Eisner (photographer and stylist), and I loaded up our jeep and set out for the 10+ hour drive to one of our favorite places- Coachella. While Fleetwood Mac guided us down the highway, we all sat on heaps of woven blankets and ice chests.

Our mission, this festival time around, was to make new connections and build bonds with our kind of women, while in the process, carrying out an impromptu shoot for our newest collection for Daughters of Simone. We had been doing the same old styled shoots since 3 years ago when we launched the brand.........A basic, find cute people, book a photographer, and put them all in some meadow off the highway to begin a day of posing and maneuvering of light reflectors. This time around, we wanted to do something different. Something that captured the joy and innocence of our generation.We wanted to meet women on the fly, just as they were. No posing, no make-up counter prep work.

In preparation for such a mission we knew we wanted to collaborate with other artisans we've all too creep-ily admired over the years. After approaching a few, and hearing of our quest, Miranda from FLASH TATTOO, Joey from The Laundry Room, and Mackenzie & Rachael from LITTER immediately agreed to jump onboard. All long time Coachella attendees who also buy into the bohemian state of mind.

And so the journey began.... As we wandered and twirled through grassy polo fields, we stumbled upon all sorts of boho-beauties. To our delight, all of which, were excited to partake in our make-shift photo shoot. (All they had to do was play dress up anyway...) So, we threw them in jumpers and dresses (over their already festival-ed out get-ups), slapped on a bunch of gold leafed tats, and adorned them in bad ass body jewelry. As the camera clicked away, over bouts of laughter, spontaneous dancing always seemed to ensue. Quickly we found common ground and, even more easily, along side these kindred sprits, we had found new friends. Four full days were spent in the dessert, snapping away at weekend warriors, drinking too much tequila, and rocking out in wind-storms. We had definitely found our people...

The new Reverlry Sisters collection by Daughters Of Simone will be available online this Summer and will feature pink floral prints, sexy jumpers, silk maxi's, and lace lined cuts all inspired by Summer music festivals.

Each piece has been designed to provide comfortable bohemian style outfits for the bride and her bridesmaids to relax and get ready in on the morning of the wedding. The dresses are loose fitting so can easily be slipped on or off over any hair style and the jump suits either tie up at the back or front again providing easy access so those all important hair styles are left undisturbed. Genius!

How amazing are those dresses and I LOVE the tattoos and body jewellery. They would both look gorgeous on the backs of your bridesmaids...............just a thought!
