CATHERINE + TONY'S SPECTACULAR DAY

CATHERINE + TONY'S SPECTACULAR DAY

via

It has been quite a while since we had the opportunity to feature a wedding by the amazing team from Custo Photography. Well, we can gladly say, it was worth the wait. Today we have the privilege to share the wedding of Catherine and Tony at Oakfield Farm in Muldersdrift. This Greek couple surely brought down the house with their Greek dancing and seems to us as if Catherine had a few moves up her sleeve. This day had a super team behind them who helped them make their day unforgettable. Johannes Schoutsen did the amazing video and captured the essence of the day beautifully. Inkspot did the stationery and Extreme Displays took care of the flowers and decor. It is always great to see a spectacular group of suppliers creating masterpieces like this one. Enjoy the post and video with us!

I Propose | Elaborate on how the two of you met or on how the proposal went down.

We actually met at Sunday School when we were children. We only knew of each other then and we went our separate ways to separate schools. We were destined to meet up again much later. We met officially and began speaking at Monsoon Lagoon in Emperors Palace where Tony asked me if I would like to go gambling, so he could get me away from the music and tell me that he liked me. This, 8 years later became the significant venue for the most romantic and thoughtful proposal.

Bride & Prejudice | Express some memorable experiences you had during the planning.

Tony was with me through all my early adulthood events- getting my licence, matriculating, graduating from varsity and all my achievements along the way. He was my rock, my consistent support and made all those life events memorable.

We have been fortunate enough to go on many wonderful holidays together. One of the most memorable was our first overseas holiday together. We went to Livigno,in Italy, on a skiing trip. We spent 10 wonderful days together in winter wonderland.

But probably the most memorable was the night that Tony proposed. Although we had been dating for 8 years the timing and way in which he planned the proposal was a big surprise (and I looove surprises)

My Fair Wedding | Describe an event that you feel was unique or even funny.

These feelings are really hard to describe. It felt like the whole world had stopped on its axis and was waiting for something amazing to happen. Months of planning, excitement and stress had come down to one day. I was surprisingly calm on the morning of my wedding, I could see people scurrying around trying to get everything into place but I knew that it would all be ok. The moment I felt the most overwhelmed was walking into the church and seeing my gorgeous husband to be in front of me, surrounded by all the most important people in our lives. That was the most real and magical moment of my life. The rest of the day was a whirlwind of excitement, fun and joy.

Don't Tell The Bride | Reveal something that happened behind the scenes.

Apparently the party went on for another hour or two after we left the venue. With my brother, our cousins and closest friends savouring every last moment, and eating the rest of the sweet table.

No More Wedding Woes | Share your wedding advice for future brides.

Our advise to couples getting married is to remember that it is your day. It becomes really easy to get caught up in the glamour and planning as well as what is going on around you. The most useful piece of advice that I used on the day was to ensure that I was relaxed and could enjoy and remember everything, "if at the end of the day you have married the love of your life, the day has gone off perfectly"

Remember only you will know if there is a flower missing on the top of your cake or if the speeches were 2 min too long. Lastly: Surround yourself with people who love you during your special process, get rest before your special day and take a moment for just the two of you away from your party to sit back and take it all in.
