I love introducing new members of the WWW sponsor family and today I am over the moon to get to know Becky Male Photography.

Becky is a wedding photographer based in Bristol who captures natural candid images of her couples and clients. I so love the fresh bright feel to her photographs, I just know you are going to adore Becky too and her tips on choosing a wedding photographer are brilliant...

Hi! I'm based near Bristol but cover weddings right across the UK. I live with my husband and our beloved moggie, Frank. I have recently become a Mummy to twins, Caspar and Poppy! I'm passionate about photography and have been fortunate to shoot weddings for some fab couples, all very unique but whose desire for beautiful, natural photographs matched mine.

Essentially when two people get married it's a day full of heady love, emotion and commitment and some times great vulnerability. Being chosen to photograph a wedding, to me is a sign of great trust and commitment from my couples and at every wedding I'm determined to do my absolute best job - I love it when my couples see their photographs and love them. Nothing beats that buzz. I'm passionate about producing beautiful, heartfelt, natural photographs.

What do I dislike about being a photographer? Probably the physical aches the day after a wedding ! You often hear photographers talking about how they suffer a 'hangover' the day after shooting a wedding - usually from a lack of water throughout a 8 to 10 hour day ! Nothing a hot bath and good massage can't fix though!

I believe you have to learn from experience and shouldn't rush the journey, I began by second shooting for other photographers - some really great, industry leading photographers who were generous with their time and trusted me to be their number 2 on the day. I was working in Human Resource and recognise that this has helped me to be highly organised, calm under pressure and able to deal with all sorts of people. Working full-time for a period allowed me invest in brilliant training. For example, with Aspire up in the Lakes as well as investing in one to one sessions with experienced photographers (Marianne Taylor, Catherine Connor, Kate Hopewell-Smith, Kevin Mullins). By second shooting initially I was able to experience difficult lighting situations, wet wedding days, weddings where things didn't always go to plan, cutting my teeth like this was invaluable. I really believe that to invest in my business I have to invest in myself.

I want my couples to love their photographs, I want their interaction with me at every point to be stress-free, clear and comfortable. I want my clients to look through their wedding album and simply LOVE what they see, knowing my photographs reflect the personality of their guests, them, and is the essence of their relationship and their wedding day.

Natural, not overly posed, I prefer to shoot in a more candid way. I like to have approx. 30 minutes with a couple on their day for some couple shots, this can be two 15 minute sessions to make the most of the changing light on a day.

All my images are then individually edited, I prefer clean, light, and airy photos as I don't want to produce images that I think will date in 10 years or look 'faddy' by being overly processed.

My package starts at £1,300 for 8 hours coverage. I also offer engagement shoots, fine art wedding albums, save the date cards, signing boards and additional hours coverage as required.

A little research goes a long way. You want to choose someone not just because they fit your budget or are the venues preferred supplier but because they are genuinely interested in you, your wedding and what is important to you about your wedding photographs. Meet them before booking, have a coffee together, look at their work - are they professional, punctual and do you get on ?

Ask to see examples of full weddings they have shot, do you like the style of their photographs? Don't be afraid to ask questions, photography is an investment and its one you shouldn't rush. Read their terms and conditions and check you understand what you are signing.

Check they are insured with full public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

However, once you have chosen your photographer the greatest compliment you can give them is to trust them.
