If you swung by our Facebook page on Sunday night (when we always sneak a peek of a wedding coming up the following week) then you'll have seen the blinking awesome video of the groom's speech from this corker of a wedding. Honestly every time I watch it, I smile from ear to ear so make sure you take five to check it out.

But that's not the only wonderful thing about Dan and Fiona's wedding captured so wonderfully by the talented Lakshal Perera aka Lucky. For a start I absolutely adore Fiona's entire outfit - from her ethereal Anna Campbell wedding dress to her sparkly Cathleen Jia headpiece which she accessorises perfectly with her Autumnal hued bouquet.

But it was Lucky's otherworldly shot of the pair on the staircase of the Historic Mansion where Dan and Fiona were married that took my breath away. I don't want to detract from the magic by attempting to describe it here so I'll let you take a peek for yourselves. Fiona told me 'it looked like we were in a beautiful fairytale' and I simply had to agree.

Fiona The Bride: We will always look back on our wedding day with so much fondness. The day was full of love and happiness with perfect weather for the mansion, and all our preparations just seemed to fit into place whilst uniquely reflecting our relationship and personalities. I really enjoyed and embraced the constant planning of our wedding and drew on lots of inspiration from wedding magazines, blogs, fairs, the amazing vendors we found and of course Pinterest! It was great to be able to creatively shape the day together with our own flair, although a mammoth amount of effort was involved, it was worth it all and we have no regrets! We will always remember our wedding day as uniquely personal and special to us.

I had envisaged my wedding dress to have lots of lace and a vintage kind of feel to it. As soon as I stepped into Anna Campbell's boutique, I fell in love with the softness of her dresses, the lace and bead detail and the romantic and whimsical feel they conveyed. I was very lucky to find my dress in Anna Campbell's Gossamer Made To Measure Collection, and as the first to order my dress; it was named the 'Fiona' gown! The gathered tulle sleeves with beautiful intricate lace and bead detail led down to a puff of layered soft tulle that shaped my body perfectly.

My headpiece and veil came from the very talented Cathleen Jia who has such an exquisite collection of bridal dresses and accessories. The delicate handmade headpiece of pearls and jewels gave even more of a Great Gatsby kind of feel to my look, and the soft lace veil just flowed naturally from my hair to enhance the tulle in my dress.

Since Daniel has a very slender build, we decided to go for a made-to-measure suit with Suit Shop. They were great as a travelling tailor who came to you, measured you up, allowed you to choose fabrics and styles, and six weeks later the suits were done. The shirt was also made-to-measure from Herringbone. Having a well-fitted suit made Daniel feel very comfortable on the day.

We wanted something classic and bold, but also not too formal so it could be worn after the wedding. We thought a darker colour would provide good contrast so we chose a dark blue suit. To differentiate from the groomsmen's suits, Daniel went with a 3-piece suit and a slightly lighter shade of blue.

A white shirt and skinny black tie again provided some contrast and kept things simple. Adding a pop of colour to their suits, they all wore coloured wooden cufflinks from Polli and very fun and colourful Happy Socks.

Werribee Mansion was the first venue we visited and always stuck in our minds whilst searching for our venue. It was perfect as a great all-rounder venue with a lovely mix of historical and contemporary style. Werribee Mansion has beautiful gardens for an outdoor ceremony where we chose the Lake & Grotto, a wonderful atmosphere in their old refurbished Theatre for the Reception, amazing photo opportunities including inside the Historic Mansion and comfortable and modern hotel rooms for our guests to stay.

Soft peach roses, succulents, garden, woodland, forest, botanical, gold, Gatsby, mansion, are words that come to mind in the theme and style of our wedding whilst also reflecting our personalities.

Daniel is a designer, so he wanted to design all the wedding stationery himself. This was quite a long process to get everything looking the way we both wanted, but it was worth it, not to mention a lot cheaper than if we had outsourced the stationery design. We chose to keep the design quite simple, with a focus on strong typography and a small colour pallete with the highlight colour being a golden yellow. We featured small ornate graphics of plants throughout the stationery to match the botanical style we were going for.

We printed all the invites, place cards, menus and signage ourselves in the same style of the gold and decorative typography. Each menu had a different picture on the back taken from the 'Two Bad Mice' illustrated cards we have been writing to each other ever since we met 11 years ago, which allowed us to share a part of our relationship with our guests. The place cards were in the form of nametags in gold writing and each hand stamped on the back, hanging from the bonbonniere succulents.

Our bonbonniere succulents and love light sign hanging and softly illuminated in the trees outside the Theatre were sourced from ' Make Your Day Wedding Styling '.

Petra from Pomp & Splendour envisaged my aspirations for our flowers just perfectly in a wonderful woodland style.

Our bouquets were an eclectic mix of soft peach, apricot, ivory and cream roses, set against dusty silvery hues, sage greens of rosemary, succulents, as well as dark leaf foliage and rich blue berries to add to the texture and soft colour palette.

Our ceremony arch was lush with hanging teardrops, pops of deep pink flowers, soft flowing moss, sprouting dark leaves against the backdrop of the shimmering lake and ducks, which was breathtaking and incredible to be married beneath!

The three long reception tables were lined with a woodland journey through pinecones, intriguing floral and succulent heads, candles in vintage jars, moss in glass dome cloches, birch log slices and sprouting fern leaves.

For the bridesmaid dresses, I naturally went with Anna Campbell's Casablanca and Mischa dresses in 'Antique Blue'. I loved the flower detail on these dresses and the soft flowing silk which complemented my dress beautifully. The colour suited the complexions of my bridesmaids whilst stood out at Werribee Mansion.

We wanted the groomsmen to have similar suits to Daniel, so we went with the same cut, just a slightly darker colour and a two-piece instead of a three-piece. We used the same style cufflinks and socks to keep things looking uniform. My two nephews as the ringbearers also wore matching three-piece suits in the same navy colour as Daniel. This was so cute as they looked like miniature groomsmen.

Walking into 'Falling Slowly' from the musical 'Once' was a special song for us, as we saw this musical on Broadway in NYC the day that Daniel proposed. It was songs like these, readings of song lyrics from Daniel's favourite band 'The Smashing Pumpkins' and movie quotes from 'The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty', as well as secrets of what we love about each other that only our family friend and wonderful celebrant Koren Harvey knew beforehand, that made our ceremony deeply personal to us and our family & friends.

Having a live band was important to us, as not only do we both love music and going to music gigs, a band really enhances and creates a very cool atmosphere on the night! We attended The White Tree's showcase and instantly found ourselves drawn to their soul singer and keyboardist John and awesome guitarist and singer Simon. They played seamlessly together like any good band should, and had the versatility to change up the style and play a wide range of songs from jazz to soul, funk to old ballads, to rock 'n' roll and contemporary hits. They were such a hit on the night and got everyone dancing (even the oldies!) and most of all having a good time!

Our food was provided by the very fine Joseph's Restaurant at Werribee Mansion. For our cake, we wanted foremost a homemade look and taste decorated naturally and simply, so we looked no further than Sticky Fingers Bakery who specialises just in this! Hayley's cakes are full of homemade goodness and baked with a lot of love and soul. Choosing our cake flavour was one of the toughest decisions we made, and we ended up going with a delectable dark chocolate salted caramel cake with cream cheese frosting. Topped with a gorgeous wooden cake topper of us custom made in Hawaii and purchased on Etsy, and decorated in the same flowers and succulents of our bouquets by the lovely Petra from Pomp & Splendour, our wedding cake was complete!

We weren't interested in the standard, posed look for our photography. We wanted something more natural, simply capturing the events of the day as they happened, so that we could enjoy celebrating our love for one another and just have a good time.

We stumbled upon Lucky's website by chance and first met him at a pub for a chat. It was like catching up with an old friend, and we immediately hit it off. Lucky was such a friendly, warm person, and we knew straight away he was the one we trusted on the day to capture those special moments.

Lucky managed to really capture our day in such a natural way and we were both so comfortable with his direction and how he just got along with everyone! The next day, Lucky posted an incredible shot of us on the staircase of the Historic Mansion that truly took our breath away in all its symmetry, light, texture, colour and our natural pose, it looked like we were in a beautiful fairytale.

We knew we wanted video of the day, because it really does go by too quickly, and afterwards can feel like a massive blur. Having video allowed us to relive our special day, and also see moments that we may have missed.

Danae from Me & My Camera instantly stood out to us, as her style was exactly what we were after. Capturing the moments of the day naturally and unobtrusively, Danae was incredibly sweet and a joy to work with! It is incredible how much detail of our wedding Danae captured, and how everything was seamless and just fit into place in her absolutely gorgeous short film with the best soundtrack, that never fails to put a massive smile on our faces.

The day of the wedding was a blast, with both Lucky and Danae making everything so relaxed and fun! It was like we had two friends there with us. Danae and Lucky are both incredibly talented and have a similar style, so they worked extremely well together.

Our advice is to try and inject as much of yourselves into your wedding as you can. Every little personal touch, no matter how small, really makes a big difference. We wanted our wedding to reflect who we were and our love for one another. We didn't want it to just be a day where we do outlandish things that simply aren't us.

Another tip is to start planning early, and give yourselves enough buffer time, as there were a few things that took a lot longer than we had estimated such as printing! And remember however organised you may think you are, it catches up with you in the month leading up to the wedding as this is when suppliers are getting back in touch with you for schedules of the day, delivery times, invoice payments, choosing favourite songs and set times for the band, and music for the videographer, plus on top of it getting ready for your honeymoon which in our case was a one month European adventure!

Most important of all is just to enjoy every single minute of your wedding day and each other, and just to take it all in, because after all that planning it will go by in the blink of an eye! Your enjoyment and love for each other will truly be reflected in your photos and videos, and in your guests' enjoyment and memories of the wedding. There will be so much love and happiness for you both, so there is no need to stress anymore on the day as everything will fall into place and come together, and even if a slight detail hasn't, nobody will ever notice. The day is ultimately about your love and commitment to one another so let this shine through!
