Last week, Kate attended the brand new flagship store for British bridal designer Ian Stuart and surrounded herself in lace, tulle and organza all in the name of research...

Nestled amongst the high rises of an evolving Victoria, sits Blewcoat, tucked under a canopy of trees and now home to Ian Stuart's first retail store.

Walking up the stairs you realise Blewcoat has been hiding its beauty within as the ceiling soars high above you and the interior exudes Georgian charm. Sympathetically restored there is a luxurious calm throughout - imagine the walk in wardrobe of your dreams - huge decorative mirrors, plush thick cream carpet, sofa's to rest on as you contemplate your next fitting. An afternoon whiled away here and you'll leave awaiting a red carpet.

Ian Stuart's collection has been created to celebrate women, whether you are marrying in your 20's or 80's, have a gala to attend and everything in between. The store holds a small collection of wedding dresses but includes a wide selection of evening wear and versatile gowns for any occasion.

Understated the creations are not, with a large dose of Hollywood glamour and glitz thrown in. Crystals, silk, ruffles and lace are adorned throughout, perfectly set off by the ambiance.

Once a school, army store, girl guides hall and National Trust shop, you can't help feel Stuart's gowns are now the perfect resident for Blewcoat - together a celebration of timeless elegance and classic beauty. At Wedding Sparrow we'd send you straight over to Blewcoat if you've got glamour in mind, and be sure to take your mother or soon to be mother-in-law, as you all might find the dress of your dreams, and there aren't a lot of stores that can make that claim.
