French Wedding in Beautiful Ireland

French Wedding in Beautiful Ireland

via

It's Friday and make the last day of the week a fabulous one, with today's classic and elegant French wedding held in beautiful Ireland captured by the talented Sona at Inspired by Love. This French-Irish love story starts whilst Antoine was on holiday in Ireland and met Marie-Louise by chance at a local pub.

There are so many elements to this fabulous wedding, but it was Marie-Louise's interview technique to dating that I really love. Has anyone else sent out questionnaires to potential dates? It is a wonderful idea and save lots wasting any time!

So back to the pub and Antoine noticed ML across a crowded room thinking she looked a little pompous but charming. M-L's friend was en route to chat to a guy to set her up with when Antoine's friends intercepted her. She stayed to chat, and ML, left standing alone, awkwardly made her way over to join them. She stood beside a blonde tanned French guy and said: "I don't talk to guys in bars so don't get any ideas".

She told him she was a surfer and grew up in France, her favorite place was the beach of Les Sables D'Olonne. This happened to be just 20 minutes (in a helicopter ) from where Antoine lived in Nantes. They continued to chat and when closing time came, the guy her friend was originally trying to set her up with approached them.

ML panicked and asked Antoine to hold her arm, pretending to be her boyfriend. And he did. They walked back to his hotel; ML gave him a kiss at the entrance before saying adieu, and exchanging numbers. Antoine left Ireland soon thereafter and ML thought no more of the encounter.

Antoine couldn't stop thinking of ML after that night. Once home, he began emailing to learn more about her. ML, although single for a year, had been in a long-term relationship and a little cautious of the dating scene. She had been approached by a few suitors over the Summer and pragmatic as ever, sent each, including Antoine; a questionnaire/application form. A screening method if you will.

Antoine, also approached by suitors that Summer, rebuffed all advances, preferring to live alone and not commit to anyone. However, intrigued by this pretty lunatic Irish girl, he filled in the questionnaire with an open heart. He placed second, mostly due to his international status and ML began dating the first contender. Antoine was not informed there were other applicants but decided to concede fairly when she told him about the other guy.

They continued to keep in touch until No. 1 applicant failed the second stage. Antoine who had nothing to lose, decided to up his game and return to Ireland. They went on their official first date, where Antoine declared love for ML. ML ran away very fast. Antoine gave chase, sending poetry, paintings, chocolate and finally, a glass vase of sand from her childhood French beach. The latter sealed the deal for ML and 6 months later, she agreed to date the French lad.

They began Skyping, emailing. ML visited Nantes, Antoine visited Ireland several times. One year after they had first met, Antoine left his job, family and friends "For Love" and went to live with ML in Limerick. A year and a half later, Antoine proposed - beside the se at the 40ft in Dublin; one of MLs favorite spots. Although he maintains they were engaged from the first kiss. More than four years later they are getting married in Dublin.
