Anthony and Samantha first dated in 2007, but eventually parted ways. "Two years later, he and I decided to give it another go," explains Samantha. "Our second 'first date' was nowhere near traditional-Anthony asked me to join him at his family's cottage in Vermont, where I met his parents, siblings and even grandparents."

Anthony's proposal was similarly unconventional. "While we were driving past a flock of cows on the side of the road, I asked to step out of the car and feed them," says Samantha. "While I was busy admiring the cows, Anthony got down on one knee to propose."

We wanted to personalize our big day as much as possible," shares Samantha. The celebration was held at the groom's family cottage, which was decorated with lace, burlap and wildflowers to complement the rustic setting.

"Anthony wore his late grandfather's cufflinks and our golden-doodle, Storm, wore a black and white tux and stuck with us all day," Samantha adds.

After the couple said their vows, they wanted to commemorate the ceremony so they planted a small maple tree next to the century-old barn they got married in.
