How to Sleep on a Hairstyle (and Make It Last)

How to Sleep on a Hairstyle (and Make It Last)

via

We're not strangers to the fact that a perfect hair day is not an everyday occurrence. That rare moment each strand falls wistfully into place, and a strong breeze only serves to make it better. Ah, so blissful, yet so fleeting. If only we could hold on to such a moment and make it last forever. Ok, that might be bait of a stretch, but how about just two good hair days? That's not too much to ask, is it? Follow our tips below to make a hairstyle last through the night and still be glorious the following day - and no, you won't have to sleep sitting up.

Set it.
In order to keep a smooth, straight hairstyle sleek and frizz-free, apply a little leave-in conditioner (try L'Oréal Paris EverCréme Sulfate-Free Moisture System Nourishing Leave-In Spray) to the roots before you go to sleep. If it's waves you want to hold on to, twist hair loosely into a topknot, securing with a soft hair tie.

Protect it.
Swap out your pillowcase for silk or satin to prevent breakage and frizz. Better yet, sleep with a silk hair wrap or scarf to keep your hairstyle from completely flattening or sprouting unnecessary twists and kinks. If you tend to shift often during the night, this protective covering will keep your hairstyle from becoming unruly and unbalanced.

Refresh it.
Morning is here and you've managed to salvage most of yesterday's hairstyle. It's time to refresh your 'do! Pump up the volume on a curly, wavy or textured look by spraying Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Instant Bodified Dry Shampoo and gently working it in with a comb. To refresh a sleek look, L'Oréal Advanced Haircare Smooth Intense Frizz Taming Serum will help create silky, shiny strands.
