Colour Luxe - A Woodland Styled Shoot

The concept for the shoot was to create whimsical and colourful inspiration for creative couples opting for a quirky outdoor wedding. We took inspiration from the colourful birds which can be found within the woodland, and used a vibrant colour palette of hot pink, orange, yellow, turquoise, purple and added gold touches for a hint of glamour. The whole style was eclectic, bohemian and mixed old and new.

We chose Jollydays Glamping as the location for its magical 200 acre woodland set on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. It's such a unique venue and a real hidden gem. Woodland weddings are hugely popular and so we wanted to show how the wide open spaces can be transformed.

For the celebration meal Gemma created a tablescape dressed with a sparkly gold sequin table cloth and turquoise urns filled with gorgeous vibrant blooms, juxtaposed against the natural woodland setting. Pretty eclectic details were added using a mismatch of objects. We used hand-crafted dipped candles in brass candlesticks. Anthropologie dinner plates awash with texture and colour, but equally soft and delicate. Elegant jewel like Anthropologie glasses, perfect for those wedding day cocktails. Vintage cutlery tied with bright ribbons, and mismatched wooden painted chairs all added to the boho table design.

Katie created the whimsical floral arrangements with an abundance of summer flowers in an array of bright colours that POP against the woodland surroundings. Using a gorgeous selection of Garden Roses, Peonies & Spray Roses as the main flowers & adding dainty flowers like Alchemilla & Clematis in between for a mismatched feel.

For extra detail & unique textures Katie added Dianthus 'green trick' with its green, fluffy flower heads & little yellow stems of Craspedia. Being inspired by the surrounding woodland, adding greenery like trailing Fern & Hosta leaves was essential & really accentuated the vibrant colour palette.

Carys and Kizzy created two very different bridal looks on the day, and they worked perfectly with the beautiful Maria Senvo dresses from their Fifteen Collection. The dresses created a soft and feminine look; with striking silhouettes and intricate lace and beading. Rebecca provided the beautiful half cap, which really came to life in the big birds-nest inspired hair with striking florals and whimsical birds peeked out of the hair as a little bit of fun! The grooms accessories were also provided by Rebecca, and handcrafted from vintage Liberty fabric to add to the bohemian style.

We had an amazing colourful ribbon back drop for the ceremony, with hanging birdcages filled with a mass of colourful summery blooms.

The absolutely amazing dessert table was created by Skye. The wooden birdcage sat centre stage and showcased a delectable selection of cakes and sweet treats. Wooden log slices posed as cake stands and birdcages filled with moss, bohemian style bottles and votives filled with stems of flowers, beaten up old suitcases with bright florals cascading out.. it really was a feast for the eyes!!

Thanks to Gemma from Rosy Apple Creations for sending us this fab styled shoot..We totally love the pop colours and hope it has inspired your woodland wedding! x
