Lavender & Honey: The Beauty

Written by: louise

Morning lovelies! How did you spend the Bank Holiday? I popped over to visit Mr B in Dubai for a few days of sea, sand and sunshine, arriving back to a rather damp and miserable London. Brrr, Autumn's here! But before Summer dreams become a faded memory, we've got the last in our Lavender & Honey style guide to share with you today and hopefully our cheery pale yellow and lavender palette will coax the sunshine out! Our resident beauty expert Ana Ospina is back with the low-down on recreating these pretty looks for your own summery wedding day look.

What a delicious combination soft honey tones with pretty lavender hues make! For our bridal look, I opted for honey tones on the eyelids, soft golden browns with a soft smoky grey brown towards the outer corners of the lids and under the bottom lash line, then a little corner flick to give detail when looking down in wedding photography.

I filled in brows with an eyebrow pencil and then finished grooming, by using a brow gel to lay down any stray hair. I used a bronzer and highlighter to contour and give a glow to the complexion and then added a pop of colour with a pink lipstick and gloss (pink lips always looks great if the bridal bouquet has purple or lilac flowers in them). I use a lip pencil before applying lip colours but also after to give definition to the lip shape.

For a complimentary bridesmaids look I used a soft lilac eyeshadow with a little charcoal eye pencil and a grey shadow blended over the top to soften the eyeliner. A silver shadow was used in the inner corner of the lash line on both the top and bottom to open up the eyes and keep the look fresh. I then added a peachy blusher onto the apples of the cheeks and a softer coral pink gloss to soften the look next to that of the Bride.

A soft shimmer powder is added to give a radiance to the face and décolletage. Mascara on both make up looks were a waterproof formulation, which is key for longevity and of course to stop any happy tears from shifting any make up.

I hope this tutorial goes a long way into inspiring you all with regards to make up and that it also gives you the confidence to request any specific needs and requirements to your chosen make up artist. If you've got any questions, fears or worries about your wedding day make up why not get in touch? I'm here to help, after all!
