Boudoir, Babe - Understated Lingerie

Boudoir, Babe - Understated Lingerie

via

Morning gorgeous gals,

Inspired by the new Stone Cold Fox look book for autumn 2014, Ladies and Gentleman, we're gonna peruse our way through some seriously sultry lingerie trends this morning. If you're looking for traditional white laced bodices and suspenders, this post isn't for you! Instead, think delicate shapes, soft dusky pinks and the silkiest of fabrics and you're just on the edge of today's glorious collection. Elegant, alternative and subtle; let us revamp your boudoir, babe.

So, it's pretty common knowledge that the right pair of high-waisted briefs can help hide a multitude of sins under a rather fitted dress, but today I'm imploring you to bring the super cute high-waist out of the underwear draw and flaunt it... I mean, if it's good enough for the Olsens, right?!

This waist defining, hip hugging style not only has vintage written all over it, but it screams confidence and elegance. Paired with a sweet triangle bra and a slouchy knit, it's the perfectly cool, laid back lingerie we're craving as we head into the autumn months. Seriously gorge.

Worried about that panty line? Look for briefs with lace on the lower hems, it softens edges, making for a super smooth silhouette!

We're just besotted with this grey-mauve colour, as well as the black and cream set; so much more chic than traditionally white bridal lingerie!

Now, if you gals are yet to create an underwear board on Pinterest, you're gonna want to get that sorted pretty sharpish! With the surge of gorgeous little bralettes on our feed recently, we've seriously gone to town on our Undergarments board. We've seen unusual cuts, from that reversible grey tied piece, to more structured cropped tops and they come in every beautifully washed-out shade you could imagine. Safe to say; we're big fans of the bralette!

...That last shot though, just divine! Getting a beautifully lit shot of your wedding night lingerie is not to be overlooked in your preparations on the day. Sure, you're probably not gonna want to show this one to your Uncle Jim, but lingerie can make for dreamy photos, and it's a lovely personal memento to look back on. Trust me, my photographer snook a shot of my underwear, and I'm so grateful she did!

I'm totally besotted with this emerging trend: silk shorties. Leaving a lot to the imagination, this totally sophisticated style is sassy defined. Look for thin, flowing fabrics, with minimal embellishment in soft nude tones for the ultimate in elegant bridal lingerie. Remember though, it's imperative that this style is worn loose; so size up, nobody likes a clingy shorty.

They're the sweetest, right? So flattering too!

I totally appreciate that this style won't be for everyone, lingerie certainly isn't a 'one style fits all' scenario, but for my smaller busted Festival Brides, you simply have to take a look at these triangle bras. Starting with this gorgeously understated Swiss dot, cotton bra from BHLDN, the triangle is taking on a whole new grown up style these days!

We're seeing more natural tones, in delicate eyelash lace (which, FYI, is gonna be HUGE for autumn 2014) and mesh pieces with barely-there embellishments. The possibilities are endless and incredible!

The grey-green mesh bra in that final image is just beautiful! Khaki and olive tones are another serious colour trend for the coming season and as far as underwear's concerned, it makes a perfect not-too-girly alternative.

And finally, a firm favourite on our pinterest feed right now is the teddy. The bodysuit's older, more sophisticated sister, the teddy is essentially a lingerie playsuit. A quirky twist on the traditional slip, teddies come in varying degrees of cover-up and look simply incredible on almost any figure.

Whether you opt for a deep, plunging wrap-over style in layers of flowing chiffon, or a simple silk suit, edged with a wide band of ethereal lace; the teddy is a beautiful alternative for lounging round, drinking champers in your honeymoon yurt!

Dreamy, right?!

So ladies, make sure your bridal lingerie isn't overlooked in the whirlwind of planning and don't be afraid to go for something a little alternative!

Grooms, you can thank me later!

Peace + Love,

Clare X
