Pink & Gold Marie Antoinette Inspired Wedding

Pink & Gold Marie Antoinette Inspired Wedding

via

We are starting the week with pure opulence.

WWW readers Ben and Charlotte tied the knot on Saturday 7th June at Rectory Farm, Cambridgeshire. They envisioned a pink and gold Marie Antoinette inspired wedding day, with a fair dose of sparkle.

There was golden sunshine, pink sequin table cloths and blush roses.

Charlotte looked incredible in her ruffled Intuzuri dress, which she teamed with a floral crown from Rock n Rose and super pretty veil. The bridesmaids wore white frocks while Ben opted for a bowler hat, braces, cane and bow tie. Oh the style!!

Thanks goes to the totally fabulous Anna Pumer Photography for sharing her imagery today.

THE PROPOSAL | Weekend away in Bath, he proposed after Dinner on the first night. It was a great start to the weekend!

THE VISION | French pastels, Marie Antoinette (but with no guillotine) and lots and lots of gold.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | It took a year to plan overall, once the venue was booked things slowly fell into place. Charlotte had an idea of the theme although it took a long time to convince people so much pink and sparkle was a good idea!

THE VENUE | Rectory Farm was found after a search in the Cambridge area, it is a large B&B with a lovely garden and marquee.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Charlotte wore a large ivory ruffled dress by Intuzuri which she teamed with Rupert Sanderson shoes, a floral crown from rock n rose, veil from Etsy and lots of jewellery.

FINDING THE DRESS | The dress was purchased from 'Brides by Swarbrick' in Manchester. Charlotte's family are from there so it was a nice opportunity to have a catch up. After trying on about 5 other dresses she knew it was the one!

GROOM'S ATTIRE | A blue suit matching the Groomsmen and fathers. Ben's look was set off with a bowler hat and cane. And why not.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Charlotte's father read out a piece from Captain Corelli's Mandolin in the church then Rock My Reception greeted everyone at the venue. They were amazing! Played all our favourite Oasis songs and many more for about 4 hours non- stop! A big hit with the guests. After the speeches Junk Yard Preachers (the father of the bride's band) played a wonderful set of good old fashioned rock n roll! Finally Paul Owen's played a perfectly judged DJ set and kept everybody dancing.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Charlotte's Sister Emma was head bridesmaid followed by her two best friends Amy and Pippa. They all wore ivory dresses and floral headbands to compliment Charlotte's look.

THE FLOWERS | Charlotte's bouquet was a large posey of pink, ivory and peach roses tied with gold ribbon. The bridesmaids had a miniature version of this bouquet and the Mothers wore an ivory rose corsage. The Men each wore a pink spray rose.

THE CAKE | The cake was made by Amy's (bridesmaid) Mum and was a 4 tier cake decorated in Gold pink and ivory icing. The tiers were fruit, chocolate, Victoria sponge and lemon. We had an ornate bird cake topper on top which Charlotte made.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Our photographer was Anna Pumer who was beyond amazing! She felt like our best friend by the end of the day and was so fun to work with. She got every shot could have wished for and more.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | We decorated the marquee with coloured pom poms and garlands. We had rose gold sequin tablecloths on the tables with large gold pearl embellished candelabras and flowers in the centre. We gave Charbonell et walker heart shaped truffles as favours, pink for ladies and gold for men. We had a box of flip flops for ladies to change into later on in proceedings!

THE HONEYMOON | We travelled to South East Asia where we visited Kuala Lumpur, Cambodia and Langkawi. It was incredible and we are desperate to see more of this part of the world.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | The sun coming out as we were leaving the church after a morning of heavy rain. All the music was special and gave the day just the tone we wanted. Everyone jumping in to the pool at the end of the night. Naked wedding pool party anyone?

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | (Grooms) choose only the things you really care about to take a stand on (and possibly argue about!), give the suppliers an idea of what you want but listen to their input as they probably know better than you. Enjoy the day, it goes very quickly.
