I don't think I can be described as a girly girl.. I'm highly allergic to bright shades of pink and purple and if I'm wearing anything other than black jeans and a loose fitting tshirt or cardigan, I'm having a weird sort of day. So it's rather alarming to me that I have such a soft spot for sequins. And by soft spot, I mean I love them. Admittedly, I prefer them in moderation and when it comes to sequin bridesmaid dresses, for me, they work better as part of a mismatched bridal party look and the more neutral and soft the palette, the prettier. Finding the right shade of sequin is always the trickiest part and it's definitely best to stay away from those gaudy golds and silvers so if you are shopping for a dress of this kind, keep an eye out for a more matte finish. If that fails, go as neutral as possible! Another thing to bear in mind is the cut and shape of the dress. Sequins are sexy and for a wedding, you definitely want to be more glamour than gauche so if it's sleeveless, make sure it has a generous hemline (call us a bunch of grannies!!).
