I'm feeling very happy indeed this morning, because Rosie and Tom's wedding is such a gorgeous one to be blogging on a Friday morning.

The cute couple married at Pickwell Manor in Devon - a place that is close to their hearts as they both holidayed there as children.

They wanted their wedding to be like a mini break for their friends and families...and it was just that - swimming in the sea, cricket on the beach, delicious food and glorious sunsets.

Throw in a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony, pretty pink details and Suzanne Neville's elegant Lucia gown - and I think you've pretty much got the perfect weekend away!!

Rosie The Bride: Both Tom and I spent many sunny days with our families on the beaches of Woolacombe and Putsborough as children, and have enjoyed returning together during the last 9 1/2 years. We liked the idea of turning our wedding into a weekend away with friends and family, so a seaside venue was perfect.

When we found Pickwell Manor, we fell in love with the beautiful house, pretty gardens and stunning views. Tracey and Susannah were so welcoming, and we were given free rein to plan our wedding however we liked, which was wonderful.

My oldest friend Lottie has a stationery business, and made the amazing invitations. I emailed her an idea and she put it onto paper perfectly, creating a lovely papercut-style design that depicted the wedding venue.

Both of our families dreamt up fabulous ideas to style the wedding, and we chose a theme of a vintage English garden party with a seaside twist. My Mum, Julianne, is an interior designer, and Maggie, Tom's Mum is also very creative, so we knew we had a great team to decorate the venue.

They both made yards of bunting from pieces of old fabric including our childhood clothes and tablecloths, which we used to decorate the ballroom.
Maggie and Terry (Tom's Dad) made beautiful boats from pieces of driftwood and vintage lace, some of which were used on the tables- named after our favourite beaches.

Julianne made us a thumbprint keepsake- a drawing of our new house, with space for everyone to print their thumbs as balloons to lift us off on our great adventure! Izzy (Tom's sister) made us a wonderful wishing tree, and our guests wrote their favourite memories of us onto heart-shaped tags to decorate it.

The weather on the day was perfect, and allowed us to have the outdoor ceremony we had dreamed of. Tom and the boys headed down to the beach in the morning for some games and a swim (sadly there were no waves for the planned pre-wedding surf!). Meanwhile, my Bridesmaids and I had a lovely girly morning together getting ready in one of the huge bedrooms.

Choosing my dress was definitely my favourite part of the wedding preparations. I knew the type of dress I wanted - lace fabric and cap sleeves, with a pretty back and buttons. "Lucia" by Suzanne Neville fitted the bill almost perfectly, and when Rebecca at The Mews added the sash and pale pink flower, we knew it was the one! I had preferred the looked of a sweetheart neckline, and after meeting Suzanne herself at a designers' evening at The Mews, we decided to alter the dress to make it just how I had dreamed.

I decided not to have a veil, but wanted something to look pretty in my hair. I loved Hermione's designs, and she made me a delicate headpiece from pearls and silver wire, with a few pink gemstones to match our colour scheme. She also made hairpins with pink pearls for each of my bridesmaids, which I gave them on the morning of the wedding.

My bridesmaids were our two sisters- Lucy and Izzy, and my two best friends- Sophie and Ruth. I loved the neckline of their dresses and the bows at the back, which worked well with the sash on my dress. The pale pink satin looked beautiful in the sunshine on the day.

Julianne made pretty personalised coathangers for the bridemaids' dresses, which looked great in the photos. She also made me a garter from satin and lace, with a blue ribbon as my "something blue".

The boys wore navy which complemented the pale pink theme. I loved that Tom could "dress down" after the ceremony with his waistcoat and rolled-up sleeves - he looked really relaxed and gorgeous in our evening photos. The ushers all had a skinny cotton tie chosen by Tom to complement the bridesmaids' dresses, without being too shiny and girly!

Tom's cousin Lucy is a florist, and brought all of the beautiful flowers with her to the venue the day before the wedding, then our entire family set to arranging them into lovely designs. We had decorated numerous glass jars and filled them with small flowers to put on the tables, along with vintage teapots. Lucy then made the gorgeous bouquets and pinholes on the morning of the wedding. She wrapped my bouquet with ribbon and lace, leaving long floating trails which I loved!

Tom's Aunty Kate made our amazing cake, which included a pale pink tier and lace to match our dresses. It had a gluten-free orange-flavoured top tier for Tom, Victoria sponge middle tier, and chocolate sponge at the bottom, and tasted delicious!

We used a sword which is a family heirloom to cut the cake, with my Uncle Dig telling everyone its history before we made the first cut.

We had great fun meeting the caterers Lee and Kris and coming up with ideas for our wedding food, as well as tasting their amazing creations.
For our wedding breakfast, we decided on an afternoon tea to fit in with the garden party theme. The sandwiches, cakes and scones looked beautiful on the tables, surrounded by amazing vintage crockery. Tom's only request for the wedding was a hog roast in the evening! The smell got the guests' mouths watering as they chatted in the evening sunshine, whilst Tom and I headed off for some sunset photos above the stunning backdrop of Baggy Point.

After the hog roast the band "The Breaks" played some acoustic songs, followed by a mix of old and modern classics into the night. Our favourite moments were a mass singalong to "Don't Look Back in Anger", and one of my friends Alethea joining the band for their finale "Moves Like Jagger"!

We are so pleased with the photos Ali took of our perfect weekend. The preview slideshow he made for us is full of such happy memories, and still makes me cry every time I watch it!
