Navy and gold inspired organic wedding

Boy, do we know how to end the week! We've been tripping over our jaws since this beauty of a real wedding from fine art tour de force team Taylor Lord, Lindsey Zamora and Without Wax Katy came into our inbox. From the Texas Hill Country location, the lace mantilla veil, the gold bells, the custom calligraphy paper goods from Signora e Mare, the elegantly simple foliage filled florals from Without Wax Katy ... OK this could go on for some time... Suffice to say, we are in awe of not only the entire team of vendors' talent, but the love that exudes from this stunningly beautiful wedding of Casey and Stevan...

From the bride, Casey: " Stevan and I are originally from southern New Jersey, but graduate school and careers led us to Texas shortly after our engagement. It wasn't long before we visited and fell in love with the Hill Country and knew we wanted our marriage to take place there. Our goal was to create an intimate wedding inspired by the organic, rustic elegance of southern Italy. We visited Chapel Dulcinea and were in awe at the natural beauty, serene atmosphere and gorgeous architecture. Next we chose Le San Michele as our reception site, a hidden gem nearby that is uniquely both a private home as well as a venue. The home, with its sprawling, manicured grounds and sun bleached stone patio brings to mind the Mediterranean coast and we could instantly see our dream of an al fresco style reception coming to life."

The overall design and aesthetic details were of special interest to me. To help bring our vision to life, I enlisted the help of a fine art wedding stylist. With her guidance and eye towards beauty in the details, she helped make what started as a collection of images on Pinterest become a reality. In every choice we made, we sought to evoke a sense of organic, Old World Italy. Florals were designed with a bit of wild, untamed quality in mind. The farmhouse tables were decorated with herbs, terra cot pots, and mercury glass votives strewn casually but intentionally. Our selection of a muted, neutral color palette was enhanced with touches of lapis and mustard, and the various vignettes were accompanied by olive branches in urns and chunky wooden candleholders. Some of my favorite details include the bridesmaids' "flowers" - antique bronze bells contrasted with long vine "shawls" draped around their shoulders. The day of our wedding opened with torrential downpours and hail. But one hour before ceremony start time, the skies cleared and the most beautiful rays of sunshine streamed down. We exchanged our vows against the backdrop of a panoramic Texas sky, and then continued the celebration over a farm-to-table meal. We enjoyed an olive oil tasting bar during cocktail hour, complete with local cheeses and cured meets, and later guests enjoyed a S'mores bar. We ended the night with coffee, and warm cable knit blankets to ward off the chill, and were sent off as husband and wife with an olive leaf toss. We hand selected every single element of our wedding, and couldn't have made this happen without the tremendous love and support of our families, friends, and the incredible team of vendor-artists we had the distinct pleasure of working with. To this day, we cannot express how blessed we feel to have celebrated our marriage in such a beautiful, breathtaking way. Vendor details
