Relaxed and Beautiful DIY Lemon Grove Wedding

Relaxed and Beautiful DIY Lemon Grove Wedding

via

We just adore the chic rustic feel of a winery wedding. And is there anything more beautiful than an orchard celebration in fall?

Well, we took one look at Kendall and Ali's cool California bash and decided lemon grove weddings will be the next big bucolic backdrop for 2015.

Fresh and colourful, yet relaxed and organic, Limoneira Ranch played the ideal setting for their day, filled with DIY details and an atmosphere firmly focused on family and friends.

Their wedding was captured by talented husband and wife team, Jack & Hannah Film & Photography.

Jack is on the videography side of things (pop back tomorrow to see his gorgeous wedding film!) while Hannah is the lady behind today's dreamy pictures.

Intimate, romantic and beautiful, her shots are the perfect reflection of Ali and Kendall's wedding day...

Our Wedding Day

We wanted our day to be organic, romantic, natural, and easy-going. Mostly though, we wanted everyone who we love so much and who has been such an important part of our lives to feel special and loved. We wanted all of our dearest family and friends to know how grateful we were to have them in our life - we would not have made it this special day without them! This day was truly a group effort, a labor of love, and every one of our family members gave their hearts to make our day special.

The DIY Details

The truest labor of love was the creation of our centerpieces. For three months, my mother, my mother-in-law, and myself scoured thrift stores and garage sales to collect about 200 vases for the 31 tables at our reception. My father collected the lumber, stain, shavers, and test tubes, and my whole family put in the elbow grease to shape, paint, drill, sand, and decorate the 60 planks that were placed on the tables for the reception. These small, personal, homemade touches are what made our day truly memorable. We are so grateful to have had the support from our family to make the vision of our perfect day a reality.

Advice for Other Couples

More than anything, have fun with the planning! This is your day to express yourselves as a couple, to make your day exactly as you want to. When you first get engaged, make a list between you and your spouse what the most important aspects of the day are to you both. Then make those aspects the priorities and don't settle on those decisions until you have secured something you absolutely love. And at the end of the day, it's the first day of the rest of your life with the love of your life, so just have fun and don't stress that much!

Oh gosh, it's all so lovely isn't it! I just love an al fresco wedding - there's something so instantly chilled and organic about it! I love Ali and Kendall's style, and those bridesmaids dresses are just fab, too.

Congratulations Kendall and Ali, and thanks so much to you, and the marvellous Jack & Hannah Film & Photography for sharing this lemon grove wedding.

Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow for their wedding film - it's worth the wait. Promise!
