Today's shoot is so festively chic we simply had to squeeze it before the holidays.

While we're not quite dreaming of a white Christmas this year, (Elizabeth's in Dubai and I'm in Greece!) we're feeling just as festive as if we were snowed into a log cabin with only egg nog and turkey sandwiches as supplies.

And while the sun might be shining outside, it's inspiration shoots like this Scandinavian-inspired celebration by the wonderful Cortney Smith Photography and Elizabeth Ulrich of Stockroom Vintage, that keep the Christmassy vibes coming in.

Traditional yet stylish, chic yet fun, this shoot might have been captured in Southern Tennessee, but it's got Northern European style, all over it.

A festive palette and seasonal blooms sit smoothly with cosy textures, vintage details, and a rustic backdrop. While cool country style and Christmassy cocktails give it a modern finish.

From The Stylist

We were inspired by Scandinavian holiday details: candles, casual warmth and natural elements. We took our favorite features of Nordic design-lots of white and silver and plenty of candles-and warmed up the typically stark style with plaid flannel, warm chunky knits and bright pops of red. Functional elements like pillar candles tucked into vintage tins and baking pans with snips of foraged greenery provided warmth and a nod to Nordic holiday traditions. The hauntingly beautiful stone ruins were the perfect foil to the lush greenery and deep velvety red blooms in the holiday wreath and florals by SOULflowers. The sparkle of the sugared cranberries that lined the cake and our tablescape were an ode to freshly fallen snow. Our specialty cocktail, a sipping cream (made with Tennessee whiskey!) poured over dark coffee ice cubes with a peppermint garnish provided a fun and unexpected way to meet our winter coffee cravings.
