I chatted with high-fashion makeup artist Stephanie Gomez for Top 5 Management, to help us find the best shades for the looks we love!

When going with a bold color such as red, it's best to keep the lips neutral, says Gomez. Allow your dress to be the statement! Instead of trying to match your lips to your dress, which can be challenging, try a peachy-nude lipstick (like NYX Cosmetics Simply Nude Lip Cream in Peaches) and finish the look with a coat of lip gloss!
Midnight BlueSequins-covered dresses are absolutely gorgeous and they definitely shine on their own. Use a lip shade that will not interrupt the sparkly pattern or colors, says Gomez. Believe it or not, nude attire is hot and sexy! Best of all, it makes for a perfect pair with one of our favorite trends of the year! Dark, burgundy lipstick (like Giorgio Armani Rouge D' Armani Lipstick in #610) is the perfect pout for any nude-colored ensemble, says Gomez. So go on and wine-stain your lips!
