Horray it's Friday! And to round of the week we have a wonderful destination wedding on the French Riviera planned by Haute Weddings. Our couple today Maria and Shaun live in New York, but with Maria of Bulgarian descent and growing up in Germany and Shaun with Indian heritage, their European wedding on the French Riviera in Cap Ferrat was a multi-cultural event not to be missed!
With a welcome reception at a gorgeous hotel overlooking the azur waters of the Mediterranean Maria & Shaun opened their wedding weekend in style. A live painter took in the scene of sailboats, yachts, cypress trees, limestone cliffs, and of course the guests that traveled from India, the USA, Europe, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Middle East.
Shaun & Maria couldn't resist taking a apple red Vespa for a spin above the rugged coastline to the village of Eze for a mini pre-wedding photoshoot in the cobble-stoned streets.

The cocktail hour allowed guests to meander among the fountains and pool. Dinner was filled with Bulgarian traditions like breaking the pita over the bride and groom's head to see how many crumbs fall on the floor and hence how many children they will have. ;)
The other tradition entailed the bride kicking a bucket with a red rose and white rose inside floating on water. When the roses are kicked out the first color out decides whether their first born will be a girl or boy! Dinner was gourmet dining al fresco style in the gardens. The live band were lively and go the crowd moving by literally jumping up on tables, playing the saxophone upside and singing tunes well-known by all. ;)

The team at Haute Weddings take us through the day: " The wedding itself was at a historical villa perched up on a peninsula with 360degree views of the sea. The exquisite and lush gardens were absolutely stunning. An indoor ceremony with 3 huge olive trees brought in by the award winning Florist Hervé Frezal, set a gorgeous backdrop with mason jars hanging from the branches dotted with roses and lavander.
After dinner everyone moved indoors for an epic dance party amongst the indoor olive trees. A DJ booth never looked so cool! Guests danced the night away and had Cote d'Azur reveries that will stay with them for a lifetime! "
