1. Finalize the menu

Whether you've enlisted caterers for your big day or whether your venue offers in-house catering, it's time to start thinking food! Your menu will depend largely on seasonality of various ingredients, and we urge you to think of this when planning your menu. Even though you are smitten with lamb shank, this dish will not work for a hot summer's daytime wedding. Be mindful of the season you are getting married in and what suits most palates. You might love the thought of an exotic rabbit dish, however this is usually out of most people's comfort zone. The fun part is that you and the groom get to do a food tasting, where you'll sample the menu that will be served on the wedding day - what a treat!

2. Make a list of people giving toasts

This is important as it will affect your reception proceedings and at what time meals are served. Once you have a clear idea of who will be speaking at the wedding you can plan this timeline accordingly.

3. Purchase your undergarments

Last week we mentioned that your wedding shoes should be comfortable and we're offering the same advice here. Comfort is key! If you are not used to wearing a sexy thong, today is not the day. Choose a pair of knickers that work for you as well as your dress. Seamless panties are a great option as you won't be able to see a panty line if you're wearing a tight fitting dress. Also, even though beige reminds you of your granny, this is the best way to go. Beige underwear will guarantee that nobody will get a glimpse of your knickers through your dress. You'll be surprised what shows up on a camera flash! You can change into your sexy underwear later when you and your groom retire for the night - wink wink!

4. Finalize the order of ceremony and reception

This task is a bit time consuming but is absolutely necessary. The running order (what we like to refer to as a timeline) is golden for everyone involved in your wedding day. It tells everyone from vendors to bridesmaids exactly what time they need to be where. If you've hired a wedding planner they will be able to assist you with this element and make recommendations as to what should happen when. Your chosen vendors will also be able to guide you when they need to deliver/set up which element so this will help with where you need to slot them in.

5. Touch base with vendors

As mentioned above, now is a good time to start contacting vendors, especially if you've booked them 8 months plus in advance! Make sure they all have your wedding date inked into their diaries and ask them when they will be delivering and collecting goods (where applicable).

After you've completed the above tasks, you're well on your way to wedding day! Enjoy the last few months, time is ticking! Happy planning.
