We're so excited to have a very special guest joining us on the blog today.

She's one of the foremost authorities of all things floral in Britain, she's written 17 books on blooms, (which have been translated into 13 languages!) and she's been working with brides and grooms on their weddings for almost 30 years.

It's world renowned floral artist, Paula Pryke OBE, who last year, was awarded in the Queen's Birthday Honours for her services to the floral design industry.

It's safe to say we're rather honoured to have such an expert in our midst!

Paula Pryke's Top 10 Floral Trends for 2015

Paula is known for her creative designs, and with her own flower school in London, she has paved the way for some of the biggest trends in wedding floristry over the last three decades.

Known for blending the timeless with the innovative, Paula's take on this year's trends is just that; something old, and something new.

From exciting modern colour combinations to traditional garden favourites, we're expecting some fabulous floristry in weddings for the year ahead.

Paula has trained some of the finest florists in London and beyond, so who better to school Bridal Musings' brides and grooms on the most chic trends for wedding flowers in 2015!

1. All That Colour

The main trend for 2015 is that brides and grooms are getting much more bold with their colour choices and rainbow schemes, with all the colours being very popular.

2. Something Blue

Outdoor weddings, marquees, barns, and village halls are also increasingly popular as brides and grooms become more involved in styling and decorating their own weddings. Summer through to autumn, blues are especially popular.

3. DIY Decor

Small, informal table arrangements continue to be the most popular. The trend for vintage bottles or small jars will continue through 2015. Ikea do a fabulous selection of bottles and pillar candles of all heights for the DIY bride.

4. Seasonally Sourced

Seasonal and locally sourced flowers have been a massive trend over the last few years and this will be very big in 2015 with loads more farm grown flowers being available.

5. Wild Foliage

Winter weddings, which at one time were full of sparkle and tea lights, are now more likely to be green and wild. Foliage plays a big part in many schemes. Pinterest pictures full of succulents have made people aware of the texture and interest foliage arrangements can offer.

6. Silver is Chic

White and green colour schemes have been replaced with white and silver. Grey foliages are interestingly popular and the lacy textural Dusty Miller is top! Rosemary and Eucalyptus for scent are also trending.

7. Brights for Bridesmaids

Dark colours are popular for bridesmaids and so that often influences richer and more vibrant colours schemes. Burgundy and navy look great with pink and orange and jewel colours.

8. Old School Blooms

Old-fashioned varieties of flowers such as Dahlias and Chrysanthemums are in vogue again. Even Gladioli is having a comeback.

9. Scented Centrepieces

Scent is an important factor when selecting flowers. The delicate freesia looks great in small bottles and bridal work.

10. Flowers In Her Hair

The other big trend, which will continue through 2015, is wearing flowers. Flower circlets and wired flowers for the hair and also individual and unique buttonholes are soaring in popularity.
