Who doesn't love a country fayre? Lauren and David certainly do and chose the idea as inspiration behind their wedding day. Their colourful coral wedding was complete with Morris Dancers and gorgeous flower crowns. Not to mention stylish stationery, pom poms, a fab photo booth idea and an epic naked cake. Wow.

I adore Lauren's Belle & Bunty gown which she teamed with Rachel Simpson shoes, while her favourite girls wore slinky Ghost gowns in grey. Oh the style.

THE PROPOSAL | David and I were on holiday last year on the beautiful Greek island of Tilos when we got engaged. Tilos is a place very close to David's heart as it is somewhere his mother had visited regularly and eventually was living before she sadly passed away 15 years ago.

On our last night on the island, after a lovely final meal, there was a power cut and the entire place was cast into darkness. As the evening had seemingly come to an end we set off for the stroll home along the sea front when David suggested we veer off course and have a last drink on the beach. It was there, under the starlight, that he asked and I said yes!

THE VISION | Although we didn't originally know where we would get married... would it be London or nearer to family, registry office, barn??? What we always knew was that we wanted a relaxed and fun day where we could be ourselves with our nearest and dearest.

Once we finally decided to have our day in the Cotswolds and decided that Kingscote Barn would be the perfect venue a country fayre theme naturally developed and the rest of the pieces started to effortlessly fall into place but we always kept the 'relaxed and fun' brief at the front of our minds.

It was also really important to us to make the day feel truly inclusive for all our guests so we ensured that we had lots going on that people could get involved in and feel like they were a real part of our wedding rather than merely a spectator. As such we had outdoor games to play, our meal was 'carve your own' beef and, the part we're most proud of, were the morris dancers who came to entertain following our outdoor ceremony and had everyone up and joining in.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Once we decided on our venue our wedding date was set for mid September date which was, coincidentally, exactly 1 year from our engagement and 5 years from when we first met. With a year to plan we set about arranging the 'big' things first and with the venue already arranged next on the list were invitations, photographer, food, flowers and of course.. the dress!

Throwing ourselves into researching, I dragged my poor bridesmaids to several vintage wedding fairs across London. It was through doing this that we found inspiration for many aspects of our wedding. We also met our fabulous wedding photographer and found the frock!

Then we turned ourselves to 'the details' and pinterest became our new best friend giving us lots of ideas for décor, styling, entertainment and more. Where we felt we could we took ideas and created them ourselves whilst trying to ensure we always kept everything personal and relevant to us. Such as the table numbers which were all numbers that meant something to us, the fancy dress box which included the alien outfit David was wearing when I met him and the morris dancers which were an homage to David's illustrious under 16 morris dancing career!

THE VENUE | Kingscote Barn in Tetbury, GLOS was the venue for both our outdoor ceremony and wonderful reception.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | The dress was the Lace Willow by Belle & Bunty which I complimented with a floral crown and the Victoria shoes by Rachel Simpson.

FINDING THE DRESS | I started looking for a dress on a wonderful day out with my Mum and Sister where we took in the bridal shops of Cheltenham and had a great time playing dress up. I knew I wanted something relaxed with a nod to vintage that had cap sleeves but dresses like this weren't forthcoming that day. It was the following day, back in London, at The Vintage Wedding Fair in Chiswick that by pure chance I walked in and immediately saw my dress hanging on the wall. I tried it on and took it away there and then thanks to www.storyofmydress.com!

GROOM'S ATTIRE | David wanted something not too formal so a dinner suit or tails were always out of the question. In the end David found a grey lounge suit from M&S which he wore with a white shirt and coral bow tie and pocket square from www.mrsbowtie.com. His shoes were from Loakes.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | We wanted the ceremony to have a sense of fun and have some humour so the readings we chose were A Lovely Love Story by Edward Monkton and He's not Perfect by Bob Marley.

I walked down the aisle to Blue Moon by Conal Fowkes which was a subtle tribute to David's football team Manchester City! We walked back up to You & Me by The Wannadies.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | My beautiful bridesmaids were such a wonderful support throughout the whole planning of the wedding. It was also a lovely chance to spend some time with my best friends especially now we all live in different towns and cities. I had 3 lovely bridesmaids, my twin sister Kelly and 2 of my dearest friends Katherine and Lisa, who all looked beautiful in dove grey Ghost dresses.

THE FLOWERS | We used a local florist, Chris Berry, who really helped us realise our vision of natural, meadow like blooms in vintage enamel milk jugs for table centre pieces.

We had decided on an accent colour of coral early on and were keen to use this through our flowers. This dictated what kind we were able to use and saw us have 'Miss Piggy' roses complimented by gypsophila and eucalyptus. These were also used in the bouquets and floral headpieces.

THE CAKE | We are lucky to have another very talented friend, a chef this time, who created our cake to perfection after receiving a barrage of Pinterest images from me! Sam created a wonderful 3 tier naked Victoria sponge cake adorned with fresh berries on top of which sat knitted versions of David and I... another contribution from a talented friend.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Our photographer Paola was found by chance at the Miss Vintage Wedding Fair in Battersea. Her unique photo-journalistic style really stood out to us and was truly delivered on our wedding day. We are so thrilled at how Paola captured the story of our day and have the most beautiful pictures to reminisce with.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | We really enjoyed immersing ourselves in the details of the day and took the vintage poster styling used on our invitations into various elements such as the fun 'speechstake' that we put on each table for people to play along with and various signage pointing people towards the guest book and photo booth.

We used paper pom-poms from www.decopompoms.co.uk to add a touch of colour throughout the barn and also to decorate the outdoor arbor where our ceremony took place. We also filled jam jars, which we had decorated with lace or ribbon, with gypsophila and dotted them throughout the venue.

We created our own photo booth using a personalised backdrop from notonthehighstreet.com and encouraged people to take their own pictures and upload them to Instagram. It was a great way to capture those moments we couldn't be there for.

THE HONEYMOON | Immediately after the wedding we spent 3 nights at www.thecornwall.com to relax and recover...it's amazing how much a wedding takes it out of you!

2 months later we jetted off to South Africa to drive the garden route taking in vineyards, beautiful beaches and culminating in a fantastic few days on safari.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | The entire day passed by in a blur but a few moments really stand out. Seeing each other at the alter was a truly special moment as was being serenaded by our group of morris dancers at our reception!

It was also really nice when our photographer took us off for a walk and a few photographs. It was a great chance to reflect on what we had just done and view our wedding and guests from a far.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Savour every moment as the day absolutely flies by! If you can, get a few minutes with your new bride/groom and remind yourself what the day is about... you! It's so easy to get caught up with friends, family and the goings on and not see much of your new spouse!

When planning use your friends and family as much as possible. We had lots of talented friends who's skills we gratefully utilised, it's amazing how much everyone wants to help make your day everything you want it to be.
