Sometimes we need to remember the groom. After all, he's an important part of the wedding. In the current issue of Premier Bride of Mississippi, a groom that is planning on being a chef was treated with a kitchen shower and more from his aunt and uncle. It was a fun afternoon for all and the bride and groom received some beautiful gifts for their kitchen and the beginning of their new lives together.

Connor Mize envisions owning his own restaurant one day. The recent Millsap's grad plans on attending culinary school. Knowing his love of cooking, Connor's aunt and uncle, Chris and Jack McMillan, decided to host a culinary shower for Connor and his fiancée, Lana Prince.

It wasn't just about the gifts for the kitchen, the hosts had Chef Nick Wallace present for a cooking demonstration. Chef Nick, with Connor's assistance, prepared a raw local salad with vegetables that were all home grown from Nick's grandmother's garden. Keeping it farm to table, Nick even added a touch of honey from one of the area beekeepers.

Needless to say, guests enjoyed great food and the couple are well on their way to a well-stocked kitchen. And, hopefully, in a few years, Mississippians will be dining at Chef Connor's restaurant. Until then, best wishes to the happy couple.
