The boutique-hotel experts Mr & Mrs Smith have a plethora of heaven-sent honeymoon hotels in their collection. We asked travel consultant Charlotte Craig to pick her top three hotspots for 2015...

Vietnam

Vietnam is an absolute favourite of mine; it's a gorgeous, friendly country and a really popular choice for honeymooners.

Fusion Maia Resort is close to the historic city of Hoi An, which has a beautiful river that's lit up at night by pretty lanterns. I love the huge infinity pool here, and the price includes all spa treatments, so you can really indulge and be pampered. The mix of bright white walls and dark wood furniture makes for some very stylish villas. Go for a Beach Villa to wake up just steps away from the ocean.

Slightly further off the beaten track is Six Senses Con Dao; its remote island location means it's away from the main tourist hubs, but it's still within easy reach (there are regular flights from Ho Chi Minh City). The resort has some of the best beaches in Vietnam, a spa to die for and each villa comes with its own a private pool.

Mexico

Mexico is in serious demand at the moment, and with so many beautiful places to explore it's easy to see why.

The gorgeous rainforest hideaway Be Tulum is right next to the Caribbean Sea and has an incredible beachside infinity pool. If you do manage to drag yourself away from the white sand, then the famous Tulum ruins are definitely worth a visit. I'd recommend splurging on the Ocean Suite: you'll get a private pool, Jacuzzi and balcony with beautiful views of the sunset over the lagoon.

For something slightly different, look at Cuiximal, on Mexico's Pacific coast. Once home to British billionaire Sir James Goldsmith, it's now an opulent eco-lodge. The massive estate is in the middle of a nature reserve and next to a jaw-droppingly beautiful beach, and if you're after more than sunbathing there's lots to do: horse riding in the jungle, kayaking in the Pacific or snorkelling, perhaps?

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka makes for a brilliant honeymoon: it's great for combining culture and adventure, as well as offering gorgeous beaches for serious chill-out time after the wedding.

I'd recommend heading inland first to the beautiful hill country - Clingendael hotel is just outside the cultural capital Kandy, and it's a truly grand boutique hotel. It's Dutch-Colonial in style, and the hill-top setting allows for spectacularly serene views. It feels very private and discreet, too.

After a few days in Kandy, head down to the southern coast to stay at dreamy Amanwella. It's a real tropical paradise: a beachfront escape with utterly stylish suites and beautiful surroundings. It's also a great base for turtle watching, nature spotting and exploring the nearby village.

Mr & Mrs Smith gets you the best rates, guaranteed, as well as a little something extra on arrival at every hotel. To speak to Charlotte or one of her colleagues on the Travel Team, call 0330 100 3180 or visit mrandmrssmith.com.
