If you follow us on social media, you will have seen that I had the pleasure of travelling to Barcelona the week before last for Barcelona Bridal Week. I did share two posts to give you a taste of what was happening but promised to share the best of the runway shows when images that would do them justice came through. Today I'm so thrilled to kick off the week with what was one of my favourite shows, Jesús Peiró 2016 collection. Called "Nanda Devi" after the highest mountain that borders Northern India and Nepal, the name means "bliss-giving Goddess" and the show certainly lived up to it's title. Telling the tale of a mountain princess who watches out over the snowy peaks, dresses were rich in embellishment and detail, shimmering like the ice and snow of the mountains. The variety of fabrics and textures that glided down the runway was really something else. Georgette, brocade, fil coupe, chantilly lace and cotton fabrics, some with embroidered detail beautifully showcased a host of different silhouettes. More than anything though, I was dazzled by the styling and accessories. For so much sparkle, the collection was very earthy and had the right amount of drama.
