Bright Multicolour DIY Skater Village Hall Wedding - Whimsical...

James and Laura, firstly a thank you for brightening up my Friday morning. This colourful party wedding is sure to give you that Friday feeling folks.

James and Laura tied the knot on the 11th April at Hereford Town Hall followed by a reception at Withington Village Hall. They DIYed much of their day using bright bold colours and there were stunning British flowers.

The groom skateboarded to the ceremony looking very dapper in a Slaters suit teamed with Vans. While Laura looked so very pretty in her Sincerity Bridal dress, natural up do and Red or Dead shoes. Such a gorgeous pair.

Thanks so much today to Rob Farrell Photography for sharing these beautiful images.

THE PROPOSAL | Went back to the restaurant we had our first date at, exactly 2 years to the day (11th April!).

THE VISION | Bright bold colours, happy, fun, relaxed.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Wrote a big long list and checked off what we had sorted when we got it done. Spread over a long period of time it was a great way to keep stress-free and not forget anything!

BUDGET | We didn't really have a budget just knew it had to be on a budget. We were engaged for exactly 2 years so with every pay check we bought something else. Ebay and Amazon were my best friends! We also had a lot of help from our lovely families with some of the bigger payments.

THE VENUE | Hereford Town Hall and Withington Village Hall.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Strapless tulle tea-length ball gown with floral embellishment by Sincerity Bridal. Jewellery was by Jon Richard - small sparkly flowers from the 'Vine' range. Shoes were by Red or Dead.

FINDING THE DRESS | Was only the 3rd dress I tried on! My maid of honour took me to the National Wedding Fayre in Birmingham and I spotted THE dress, had to try in on and it fit perfectly!

GROOM'S ATTIRE | 3 piece suit from Slaters in Birmingham in a charcoal grey. James wore bright (luminous) orange Vans, an orange tie and orange button hole. His wedding gift was also a bright orange watch!

THE READINGS & MUSIC | James' Dad read - 'If You Can Always Be...'. 2 bridesmaids read - 'Yes I'll Marry You My Dear' by Pam Ayres.

Bridal party walked in to - Marry You - Bruno Mars. During the ceremony - Baby - She & Him, I Love You Baby - Frank Sinatra. Walked out to - Happy - Pharrell Willams.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Best friends - Rebecca (MoH), Katie & Ruth. 2 sisters - Rosemary and Jasmine. Flower girl - Piper (Grooms Sister).

THE FLOWERS | Great British Florist - Gorgeous British flowers. Our bouquets and table flowers looked like they had been scooped up in a beautiful meadow somewhere.

THE CAKE | Amazing! Made by Karen White, the groom's mum! Looked and tasted so good! I (Laura) made the cake topper out of clay and felt.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Rob Farrell - was so amazing, caught the whole feel of the wedding from start to finish. We have some amazing memories captured in fun, colourful photographs which everybody adores!

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | The hall just looked like a sports hall so we hired drapes and made it look like a marquee. Laura made lots of bunting and all of our friends and families collected jars for the 2 years we were engaged (thats a lot of jars!) half of these Laura and her Mum (Sam) made into brightly coloured candles and the other half we filled with our beautiful flowers.

THE HONEYMOON | We went to the Dominican Republic for 18 nights and had the most amazing time white water rafting, zip lining, horse trekking and chilling on the beach drinking and eating too much!

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | For the bride - Getting ready with the girls, waiting outside the ceremony, walking out as husband and wife, biggest macerana I have ever seen at the party, swooshing my amazing dress.

For the groom - Skating to the town hall, going on the swings in the park, Laura walking in to the ceremony, outside the ceremony with everybody, Dancing with Hardev (brothers best friend!)

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Make your wedding original, and true to yourselves. D.I.Y as much as possible, seeing all of your hard work come together is such an amazing feeling! Stick to your guns, if you want something, do it, don't worry about what anybody thinks or says, its your day!!!
