This beautiful venue is definitely something different, situated between The Karoo and the ocean, the perfect combination of two extraordinary elements. Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

We met for the first time at my aunt's house as his friend was dating my cousin at the
time. We only briefly greeted each other and I did not think anything of it. He then
moved next to a mutual friend who was his childhood friend and also went to boarding
school with me. We then started to get to know each other - secretly making contact and
a friendship blossomed from there.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

We went away for a long weekend to Draaihoek Lodge just outside of Elands Bay. The
Friday night after supper we were sitting in front of the fire place chilling, drinking red
wine and chatting the night away. Out of the blue Heinie suddenly asked if I had locked
the car but he caught me off guard so I told him to rather double check. Upon his return a
few seconds later he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I was shocked as
he caught me by surprise but after a few laughs I said yes.

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

There were so many memorable moments as you cannot capture the entire day in only
one moment. From Heinie's point of view it would be when he saw me for the first time
walking down the aisle. For me it is a collection of moments from the book of memories
of my mom and other relatives who passed away, our first kiss as husband and wife,
Heinie's speech, all the laughs, all our close family and friends (especially the ones
coming from far) under one roof, till just seeing Heinie enjoying his day with a big
smile, although we had a huge scare literally a month before with him being in ICU. Our
main wish was for everyone to enjoy and celebrate our special day with us and after
seeing everyone, chatting and getting all the feedback we can truly say our wish had
come true.

Make sure to take in every moment as the time goes by so quickly. Stay relaxed no
matter what happens as the day is all about you and your husband. Don't sweat the small
stuff just enjoy every moment.
