Just outside of Pretoria in the Dinokeng Nature Reserve, is the beautiful Mongena Game Lodge, as you are about to see, a stunning wedding venue. Today Antjie and Joseph is sharing with us their day of happiness. This wedding was executed with tremendous taste, the combination of the seafoam palet and a colorful combination of flowers are truly in trend right now. Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

We met in March 2012 at a Bar in the West Village, NY. Joey was there watching the
March Madness basketball games with his friends and Antje, not being a fan of
American sports, was dragged there by her roommate. Joey said he thought that Antje
was just the prettiest girl he had ever seen and that he has to go talk to this girl. Antje
was not really interested in a relationship, so Joey had to work hard for her affection. He
spent the entire night convincing her to just give him one date and that he promises this
would be the 'Best First Date' of her life. She agreed and he fulfilled his
promise!

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

Antje took Joey on his first big camping trip to Botswana, Namibie & Zim with Family
& Friends. We were traveling for 2 weeks and sharing these incredible experiences
together. On our last night we were in this magical place called Kubu Island in the
Dessert. We sat under a starlit sky, surrounded by Baobab trees on a secret rock
formation, it is here where he got on one knee and proposed. He had been carrying the
diamond ring for 2 weeks in his backpack throughout this safari experience!

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

We both agreed that our favorite moment was when we saw each other for the first time.
Joey: I remember that when the doors opened I was just overwhelmed with emotion and
it turned into giddiness as she walked down the isle. I just couldn't believe that this
beautiful women was marrying me.

Antje: My nerves were pretty high before the doors opened, but moment I saw Joey and
his expression of emotion, I was filled with utter peace and intense happiness. I was so
excited to be in this moment and truly so fulfilled.

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides

Plan (spreadsheets) everything in advance, so the last 2 weeks before the wedding you
can just enjoy the experience and relax. Don't cut costs on a photographer or a
videographer, through their work you are amble to re-live the special moments over and
over. Stay true to whats important to you, I really love flowers and wanted to splurge on
that and I am so happy I did. And lastly don't get too stressed, enjoy the experience, it is
so fun and only once in a lifetime.
