Effortlessly Gorgeous Outdoor Wedding in Australia

Effortlessly Gorgeous Outdoor Wedding in Australia

via

Australian weddings are always effortlessly cool, relaxed and gorgeous.

And Dannelle and Stephen's outdoor bash is the perfect example of how to create a laid-back celebration with lots of style and romance.

Their day, in the New South Wales Writer's Centre in Rozelle, Sydney, was captured (so beautifully!) by Something Studio.

Dannelle's super chic pink quilted gown (don't you just love wedding dresses with pockets!) was bought in Spain from Dolores Promesas - in fact it was the dress that inspired Stephen to propose on that very trip!

The perfect fit for their informal affair, suave groom Stephen (and dashing page boy Finn) matched the gorgeous bride with cool, tie-free looks.

With string lights, lanterns, sweet blooms and the prettiest of dessert tables (all styled by Honey Lane), this is the kind of fun, intimate, and stylish outdoor wedding that makes us wish we lived in sunnier climes!

Our Wedding

Stephen proposed in Malaga, Spain after we both saw what would end up being my wedding dress in a shop front window. We wanted a relaxed wedding where our friends and family could enjoy great company, food and wine against a beautiful backdrop. What marriage means to us? The affirmation of the our beautiful little family (Stephen, Dannelle & Finn).

The Dress

We saw the dress in the shop window of Dolores Promesas in Malaga, Spain. It was the dress that actually prompted Stephen to propose in Spain (he was going to wait later until we returned to Australia). We live close by to the NSW Writers' Centre and often admired the old building on walks. We were charmed by the beautiful old buildings, peacefulness in the abandonment of Callan Park and beauty of the old established trees.

The Venue

Our favourite moment of the day was Finn's reading of a passage from Dr Seuss' 'Oh, the Places You'll Go!' during the ceremony. It was incredibly emotional and meaningful to all of us. It nearly brought all of us to our knees!

Isn't it gorgeous? There is not one thing about it I don't love, but my favourite details have to be all the jars with tealights (so effective when it's done in bulk!) and that pretty welcome sign. Oh and Dannelle's fab dress of course! What were yours?

Thanks so much to Studio Something, and of course, the wonderful Dannelle & Stephen for sharing their beautiful wedding with us. Congratulations!
