Matte VS Shimmery Makeup: We Can't Decide!

Matte VS Shimmery Makeup: We Can't Decide!

via

There's nothing quite like a healthy debate to keep you (and your beauty routine) on your toes. We've covered our fair share of classic beauty arguments: statement lips or statement eyes, BB cream vs. foundation, mattifiers, vs. primers, etc. We decided to keep the momentum going by throwing a new makeup ultimatum your way, involving two hot, hot looks - matte and shimmery makeup - that seriously have us conflicted. So we want to hear from you ... which of these two looks do love more?

Matte Makeup

Step 1: Apply a tinted moisturizer (we love La Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur) to your face and blend in well with your fingers or cosmetic sponge. Dust a matte powder on your face and neck for coverage.

Step 2: Apply a matte fuchsia shadow (like Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Woodstock) on the lids and blend the color outward with a fluffy brush, so it extends just past the crease. Dust the same color along the lower lash line as well.

Step 3: Apply a shimmer-free, rosy blush along the cheekbone, blending upward to the temples.

Step 4: Swipe a matte taupe or mauve-toned lipstick on the lips (try Maybelline Lip Studio Color Blur in I Like to Mauve It) to complete your look!

Step 2: Dust a peach or coral blush like YSL Blush Volutpé in Rebelle along the cheekbones and blend upward toward the temples.

Step 3: Dust a dark, shimmery pink eye shadow (like L'Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Glistening Garnet) on the lid and buff it out, so the color transcends past the crease. Apply highlighter (try Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Nude) to the brow bone and blend it well so the color transition is natural.

Step 4: Swipe a shimmery, dark pink lip gloss ( NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Strawberry Jam) on the lips to finish off your glowing look!
