If you love Halloween, and want to have this spooky celebration as the theme to your wedding, you are probably struggling over a good color palette (especially if you aren't the biggest fan of orange and black). These 3 Halloween schemes will give you a chic look for your decor.

Red & Black

As with all of these palettes, you can totally use this one year-round for any theme. Bold, but traditional, this combo stands out vividly in photos and highlights graphic elements and patterns quite well. Above, this black and red wedding cake features pretty gum paste roses, and a subtle cobweb pattern as a nod to the holiday.

While you can certainly use any red flower for your arrangements and centerpieces, roses, carnations, and ranunculus often stand out the best. Layer them together (below, left) or keep to one type of bloom (below right)-either way the red will really pop against your black elements.

Because red and black are both so powerful, you may want to add some white in here and there. For a moodier effect, keep plenty of black. Otherwise, use white to create balance. These whimsical bridesmaid dresses below combine all three colors for fantastical style.

Deep Jewel Tones

If you want to create a dark woodland wedding for your spooky event, there's no better way than a palette of deep, rich jewel tones. From luxurious eggplants to intense berries, this color palette feels like a fairy tale when the villain enters the scene.

These opulent colors are also very sophisticated, so it can blend in with a wide variety of venues, from rustic to glamorous. Use the darkest colors in your palette for the backdrop (such as the menu shown above, right) and the lighter colors for tiny pops of accent (such as the red flowers, above, left).

Of course, with this palette you'll have such pretty food and drink tables. Make sure to use plenty of rich fruit like pomegranates and poached pears (below) if you want natural elements in these hues.

Black & Charcoal

For a truly gorgeous and ever-so-slightly Gothic mood, you've gotta go black and charcoal. This monochromatic look blends in so well with an evening wedding. Use a bit of matte glitter in smaller details to create texture (such as the envelope lining, below, left) so that these two shades don't run together.

Brave souls will definitely want to try a shiny black caramel apple wrapped in gray ribbon! Just make sure to watch your dress with the abundance of black food coloring!

Or don't worry about staining at all when you wear a black wedding or reception gown instead. Coordinate with your dark surroundings by forgoing the white gown in favor of something more suitable to your Halloween theme.
