Desert Elopement Inspiration Shoot

Desert Elopement Inspiration Shoot

We've said it before, we just love the idea of eloping. The intimacy, the romance, and the focus on what it's all really about.

But just because you're eloping, doesn't mean you can't get creative with the little (and the big) details. The backdrop, the attire, the florals, the stationery and the cake, shouldn't just be about impressing your guests, it's all about making your day even more special, for yourself, as well.

Which is why we just love this sweetly simple elopement inspiration shoot, by the talented Amy Oligschlaeger of Rosencrown Photography.

With gorgeous details, pretty styling (I love the bride's pixie crop!) and a dramatic setting, it has all the makings of a rather special elopement.

About the Shoot

This wedding inspiration shoot took place at Smith Rock State Park, one of Oregon's Seven Wonders and a must see. My inspiration for this shoot was two words: whimsical romance. I wanted to create something that really focused on the delicate intimacy between two people deeply in love and without a care in the world. Married in real life, this bride and groom really helped to curate this specific look. The bride is wearing a beautiful Maggie Sottero gown, provided by Bridal Exclusives; her look completed with a lovely bouquet by Heirbloom Floral. The handwritten calligraphy invitation suite by Oregon Girl Designs was romantic and simple-exactly how I had envisioned. And the hand brushed cake by Next Dimension Bakery help to complete the soft blue and pink pallet for the shoot, pulling everything together. An authentic love combined with a gorgeous natural backdrop helped to showcase the intimate beauty there lays in simplicity when planning a wedding or elopement. Needless to say, everything about this shoot was a dream.

Isn't it sweet? I have such a soft spot for blue wedding cakes at the moment, and that one is particularly gorgeous. A desert is a pretty epic place for a small ceremony or elopement too, don't you think?

Thanks so much to Amy Oligschlaeger of Rosencrown Photography and the rest of the team behind this shoot for sharing it with us.
