Industrial, Blue-Hued Wedding Inspiration at The Estate on Second

Industrial, Blue-Hued Wedding Inspiration at The Estate on Second

The layered blue color palette from today's gorgeously styled editorial, captured by Saculles Photography, was meant to complement the industrial feel of the architecture at one of Orange County's newest event venues, The Estate on Second in Santa Ana. The brick walls, exposed beams + bare floors of the space were ready to be beautified by Just Merried Events + Violette's Flowers, and by using hues of blue ranging from deep chambray to airy sky blue, the scene the team created is unique, inspiring + ideal for weddings of every season.

On the setting, the team shares, Built in 1923, the building served as headquarters of the Southern Counties Gas Company for a period of time and during the Prohibition days, doubled as underground storage for the "illegal" goods. Still retaining much of its original architecture and design, it resonates as a modern, stylish venue for young couples to be married (and especially those in Southern California)! Working with such a charismatic location meant letting it do the talking and taking a minimalist, organic approach.

We just love this lace-topped dress by Dreamers and Lovers + the bride's romantic makeup and braided updo by TING Makeup & Hair.

The first shade of blue that came to mind was a denim/chambray color - after all, denim was first invented to fulfill a very industrial purpose. We built on those ideas and wove in different shapes and textures across different elements, which softened up an otherwise masculine palette the floral chandelier with cascading flowers, the intricate vintage patterns on the china and glassware, the sunpaper escort cards and invitations with wisps of floral imprints, the colorful array of desserts & cake, the ethereal styling on our model bride, the whimsical giant LOVE sign.

Dish Wish + Luxe Linen just so happened to have the perfect indigo accessories to help bring the tablescape vignette to life. We think this editorial will change a few minds when it comes to color palettes. Sticking with one pigment can be far from boring and by layering hues in the same color family, the result can be stylish, cohesive and creative.

And, of course, a sweet ombre blue cake was a must! This one, by M Cakes, was just right for the setting.

Thank you so much to the talented team below for sharing this gorgeous shoot with us today! SoCal couples, be sure to check out The Estate on Second if you're looking for a beautiful + industrial indoor space for your wedding!
