Clean, Modern, Chic Austin Wedding

Clean, Modern, Chic Austin Wedding

Don't get us wrong. We love bridesmaids in blush hues, bright florals in mixed bunches, elaborate wedding cakes, and streams of bunting, tassel garlands, balloons and piñatas.

But sometimes, it's also nice to look at a wedding that feels more like a breath of fresh air amid all the ribbons and ruffles.

And Quentin & Jessica's Austin wedding is just that. Light, clean, modern, and entirely chic.

And we think you're going to love their day, captured by Kristi Wright Photography, as much as we do.

The thing that's so cool about Austin weddings is that much like the eclectic city itself, you never know what you're going to get.

A Southern BBQ, a music-filled festival, or, if you're Jessica & Quentin, a minimal, modern affair, with clean style, discerning catering, and touch of rustic meets urban vibes in its backdrop.

From her understated Jill Stuart gown, simple peony bouquets, and bridesmaids in white, (such a unique touch!), Jessica set the tone for her relaxed, yet refined wedding day.

In keeping with the contemporary feel, luxe white stationery and unfussy foliage decor made for effortlessly elegant details, with a cool steel barn backdrop offering a little rustic romance to an otherwise sophisticated affair.

Our Love Story

We met in graduate school at University of Texas, Austin, we were engaged at Travaasa in Austin, and married in Hill Country, 30 minutes from Austin. Needless to say, Austin has a very special place in our hearts.

From the Bride & Groom

Family and friends from all over the U.S. joined us for our wedding in Austin. We wanted to make sure we spent as much time with them as possible so everything we did revolved around that idea. Our inspiration was simple, clean, classic, with a colour palette of whites, creams, and greenery. We had a good friend marry us - we wanted our ceremony to be personal, so we selected the wording of our vows, and the groom's mother and bride's sister both read a poem. For the photography, we wanted to capture real, candid moments and thought Kristi did a beautiful job doing just that. After the wedding, we spent our honeymoon in Paris, the South of France, and the Amalfi Coast.

From the Photographer

A little more from Kristi Wright Photography on capturing Quentin & Jessica's day.

A little improvising took place during the ceremony after some rain showers passed through. The bride really wanted her outdoor ceremony and I'm so glad we waited for the rain to pass. The ceremony went ahead sans seating and it worked out beautifully. Rather than cake feeding they fed each other oysters!

Don't you love bridesmaids in white? It's such a cool statement, and makes the bride look really relaxed and at ease. Such a chic wedding, I just love how clean and classic it is, pretty unusual in these days of Pinterest inspiration and DIY projects, don't you think?

Thanks so much and congratulations to Jessica & Quentin for sharing their Austin wedding with us, and of course to Kristi Wright for sharing her fabulous photography.
