10 Wedding Signs You Can DIY

From the practical to the just plain cute, these 10 DIY wedding signs are fun to make for the big day!

Light It Up

You just went to a friend's wedding who had made a ton of DIY signs, but were any of them pink neon? We didn't think so. This utterly unique DIY wedding sign is perfect for a modern wedding with lots of personality! You can create these with any word. We suggest "cake" for your sweet table or "hello" for your seating chart.

Affordable Rustic

Isn't it nice when a wedding detail doesn't cost you a small fortune? These two DIY weddings signs are easy to make, as long as you have a steady hand and neat handwriting. For the wooden pallet sign (above, left), you can often find pallets at hardware stores for free. If you want to use different fonts like they did above, sketch it out with a pencil before breaking out the permanent ink. If you love the interesting look of reclaimed wood, find a few pieces and either screw or glue them together (above, right) and then write your quote. Hang in your home after the big day!

Stenciled Fabric

Block stenciling can go well with several themes, including country rustic (above) using burlap fabric. Industrial weddings with a modern theme could use this on textured paper or a patterned fabric (such as bold black letters on a bright floral). Because everyone has to watch the ring bearer from a distance, a large sign like this will ensure everyone can read it.

Up, Up, & Away

Want to add some lighthearted, carefree spirit to your reception? Make wedding signs using bright balloons in your color palette. Use a paint pen instead of a traditional Sharpie for thicker, more prominent lettering. Tie relevant balloons to your buffet tables, or you could even use this type of signage as table numbers.

Plywood Minimalism

You'd never guess how little the materials for this sophisticated sign cost. With two pieces of plywood, some white transfer paper for stenciling, and some shiny paint, you practically have everything you need to make your own sign. No one will believe that you actually created this professional-quality project.

Printable Chic

The easiest DIY wedding signs to make? Those that are either pre-printed or available in printable parts. Find a great frame that suits your wedding's theme. This ornate gold frame (above, left) was a fun choice for directing guests to the ceremony location at a traditional event. For a modern wedding sign pointing out the poppers for the recessional, this simple option was accompanied with matching printable labels. These are terrific projects for DIY newbies that want wedding signs guaranteed to turn out well.

Lasso These Signs

Crafty brides will love creating these cool signs out of rope. Once they are finished you can hang them from walls or the backs of chairs. The project is fairly straightforward, but it might take you a few tries to get them perfected. In other words, don't be the bride trying to manipulate rope signs on the night before her wedding. Just don't.

Modern & Dynamic

We adore this cool wedding sign that is a seemingly random combo of pretty ephemera. Layer different papers and notions for an interesting detail to decorate your welcome table. Raid craft stores for colorful details to add to your fun wedding sign.
